So far the best avocado toast I have had in the neighborhood! The coffee was good as well. I will for sure be going back.

I really want to like the place, it actually looks like the place I should love. All Saints Road used to be buzzing with excitement but has gone into a bit of a hibernation in recent years. It’s good to see that several independent cafes have set up fairly recently(while the pub at the corner obviously keeps struggling — whatever happened to my favourite organic Pelican?! but that’s another story …). The Tin Shed positions itself as a bakery/café, a bit along the lines of Paul’s but nicer. However, not sure if the bread really is baked on the premises as the loaves look just like the ones on offer at The Grocer on Elgin. Oh well, they are beautifully displayed on a French rack while an impressive selection of little cakes is lined up along the counter. I was kindly offered a taste of a chocolate brownie while I was waiting for my coffee. Both this and the cherry/almond cake I bought to take away were tasty but disappointingly dry. I dropped by on a quiet mid-week afternoon hoping to pick up a coffee on my way back to the office. The cappuccino looked the part but tasted watery and bland. Unfortunately, this sums up the Tin Shed for me — looks great, but no susbstance. What a shame! I had hoped my initial impression of a lunch ages ago when they first opened was due to growing pains — they didn’t have much choice and the little there was was tasty but not satisfying considering the price. I haven’t been here for a drink in the evening — may be a different story altogether.
