Great local pub with friendly staff and a good selection of beers. Nice seating area outside and a pleasant mixture of customers unlike most of the other poncy bars in Old Town.

A proper old pub serving 4 real ales, including a couple of oddities to keep things interesting. There is 1TV, which is easily avoided.

This was my local when I lived in London. Because it’s a great locals pub. There’s nothing wow or amazing about it, but it’s like a favourite shoe that fits just right. Good selection of beer, small amount of sport(only free to air), conversation if you want it, space to read the paper if you don’t. Not to mention chairs in the sun outside when it’s shining. There’s god knows how many pubs in Clapham, but this is the one I always came back to. I think that says a lot…

Great lay back vibe to hang out with friends. Pretty average fish & chips. Yummy coffee.

Love this pub… Wish it was my local cause it IS a local… Bar tenders that know your name… clients who know your name if you drink in there for more than an hour or 2(or 4)… It isnt a place to pick up and it isnt a place to go to be hip and/or cool… it is a place to call home…

A fine pub, with even finer décor inside. A veritable cornucopia of odd items lines every wall and the ceiling, so you won’t be bored waiting for a pint. There are, as I recall, around 4 ales on tap, and you can enjoy each of them on a table outside in the sunshine.

This is one of a few nice pubs set around The Polygon, set far enough back from the high street to avoid the usual lairy night-time atmosphere in Clapham. It’s Greene King, but despite that the selection of real ale is quite good. Nice art too. Check out the Warhol homage depicting Battersea Power Station. Has outside seating at the front and round back.

Only really ever an option for me if the POW is full, but it’s not a bad one providing you can get a seat. It’s pretty much a run-of-the-mill old carpeted London pub. There’s not an awful lot more to say. It’s not«trendy» enough for the normal Clapham crowd so is a good escape from that scene, but at the same time lacks atmosphere and is more of an old mans’ haunt than the type of place you’d choose to go to for a good night out. My advice would be to always try the POW first, especially seen as the pizza service has moved there now too(Oregano pizza(yum!) used to serve pizzas in the Rose and Crown but have now moved to the POW). In the summer, it’s a different story, when getting a table outside should be your priority in Clapham Old Town regardless of the pub.

This is a great pub lurking in the backstreets of Clapham. Its got a beergarden at the front and the back for the summer evenings. Staff are friendly, food is a fair price and they have a good range of ales on tap behind the bar. They used to do really good acoustic music events upstairsmaybe they still do.

I was going to stay in and bake some bread, but instead we went out on a little exploratory adventure around Clapham. And stumbled across this little darling pub! It’s very small and charming, with the loveliest little beer garden(which was closed for the time being, sadly). Wooden flooring, mostly, and wooden benches, a lot of dark worn wood all around, just the way I like it. The beer in here is a revelation. Mostly it’s Greene King, but an unusual selection as far as I can tell(including Ruddles County and Swing Low). However I never got around to sampling most of these as I was too busy drinking their guest ale Tom Wood’s Bomber County — dark and sweet(almost like German dunkelbier, probably my favourite type of beer), absolutely delicious. The barmaid was exceptionally friendly and helpful; keen to make us try different beers and then gave us a spare umbrella when we left. A new favourite.
