Best soundtrack in town, excellent pastries, good coffee, and great service. The only downside is that it’s always, always full, and by extension, noisy. The only other thing I’d mention is that some of the seating isn’t all that comfortable – chairs with coffee tables that aren’t all that great for eating off. But perhaps that’s a matter of taste…

Ever feel out of place at small coffeehouses that really don’t want you to park yourself at a table and break out your laptop? Feel that way no more at Timberyard 7 Dials. Not only do they have phenomenal coffee and latte art, along with delectable pastries like matcha green tea cake, brownies, and croissants, but they have a huge space with communal seating, couches, chairs, and an entire downstairs to spread out and break out that MacBook without getting any gnarly looks for taking up space. The staff are also super friendly, attentive to the space, and check in on you for a second round if you’re in the zone and lose track of just how long you’ve been there. Wifi is also free and speedy. Ambiance is great, moderate noise level to maintain the energy but not be overwhelmingly distracting. Some might call this place hipstery, I say it has personality and fully services those in need of meeting or collaboration space, or just a place to work in the city center. Hours of operation are reasonable. Doesn’t cater to the late night crowd but centrally located in Covent Garden, there’s too many reasons to get out and about than to stay cooped up in the basement.

This is one of the better coffee shops I’ve found, especially in London, where they aren’t quite up to the Seattle /New York level/atmosphere. I had no complaints whatsoever about Timberyard; located right in Seven Dials on a typical London walking street, it is substantially bigger on the inside than it looks. Which is great, because this is the perfect place to come in, have a couple cups of coffee, and get some work done. Their wifi is incredibly fast for a publicly-accessible network(even with so many people on it), they have seats and tables in every available nook, and their coffee and drink selections tasted great. They have a huge selection of unique baked goods as well(I tried to peanut-butter banana bread) and offer some sandwiches too. If you’re looking for a good coffee spot to hang out for a couple of hours, it would be hard to beat Timberyard

What is there not to love about TY. The ambiance is perfect, the staff are nice, and the coffee is tasteful. Upon entering, my friends and I were worried that we wouldn’t be able to find a seat, but luckily there is downstairs seating with plenty of tables. I ordered the matcha latte, which was quite rich in taste. They used a good amount of matcha powder, which I appreciated since I hate when shops skimp out on that. It’s also unsweetened, but they have sugar bowls on every table. My friend got the iced mocha, which was also abundant in the chocolate flavor. Another friend ordered a cold brew, which she enjoyed as well. I would’ve love to try some of their pastries but we didn’t have much time. Guess I’ll just have to make a trip back out to London sometime!

This place is my go to place for hardcore intense studying. Tons of outlets, lots of nooks, but get here early to claim a spot near the windows. Love the selection of tea. Their chai latte and matcha latte are my fave beverages here, and they serve everything to you with a big jug of water and glass. Their pea salad and tomato salad are my favorite snacks, both of them are light. Croque Monsier in addition to their sandwiches are perfect meals. Get the popcorn. They are addictive and come in various flavors. Love the goat cheese one! There is no other café that makes you feel right at home than Timberyard.

Stopped there for a quick coffee break whilst i was waiting for my next meeting. Basically one of thise great hipster coffee places which are popping up everywhere across the city. Great coffee! Variety of different coffees available, they clearly seem to know what they are talking about! Lots of cakes on offer too!!! Included dairy free and gluten free. They seemed sooo good! But i was good and refrained from any sweet treat! Staff was particularly friendly & presentation of the coffee is fabulous — check out my photo. But its wonderful, coffee served on a wooden plate with sugar & bottle of water. Nothing extraordinary but nice little touch.

My favourite Timberyard so far. Don’t get me wrong, the other spots are good too, but this one is the best! It is a great place to work or spend time with friends. Mosf ot the times it is crowded, but all good places are busy. I loved the atmosphere, furniture is stylish, light is okay(I am talking about the upstairs part). Croughnuts are divine(must try them if you haven’t yet). Needless to say, they have a great selection of tea(you even get a tiny timer to know when your tea is ready to drink) and coffee. I also want to mention that the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Even when it’s busy everyone is with a smile on his/her face.

I have visited here on a number of occasions and the level of service, quality of coffee and cake selection area always the same top notch! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and nothing is to much trouble. It is always busy but it does have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Try the filter coffees there are usually two to choose from and they vary each day so I’ve been told, I tried the Colombian which was full of flavour and had a hint of black currant to it!

So far this is my favorite coffee shop in London. The coffee & tea are perfect. And the bakery treats can’t be beat. Plus the staff is very kind.

When I was studying abroad in London this was my go to spot to get work done! They have free wifi that doesn’t have a log-in and works perfectly fine wherever you’re sitting. Grab a chair /table before ordering so you can tell them where to deliver it and it is usually crowded at all times. The downstairs has large tables available. The tea comes with a timer for the ideal steeping time and everything comes on a wooden board. Things can get cramped with this set-up and the water bottle and glass they bring you. The issue with space is mostly due to them not freeing up space by cleaning up after finished customers. Plates/boards /bottles can go hours before being cleaned up. Pastries are hit or miss but they have a varied selection and the drinks are good. It’s a perfect place to study or to grab a drink and chat.

I’m not in the least exaggerating when I say I’ve been around the world and have yet to find a more perfect coffee shop to spend a day. Nestled into a cozy corner of the Seven Dials, Timberyard combines high-quality tea, coffee, and pastries with friendly staff, a great layout, and elegant décor – the only place I’d want to study for finals. When you order tea, the pot comes with a timer set the ideal brewing time for your choice of leaf – and man are there choices. The extensive range of teas had me coming back over and over again just to try and make a dent in the number of varieties. Unless you’re extremely lucky to find a table upstairs(I did manage to a few times), there’s a huge downstairs working space with outlets, free wifi, and even a quasi-meeting room for groups. Basically, just go!

Our favorite coffee place thus far. Been there three times in a few days. Good location, curb corner, busy street, people watching is made easy. not a lot seats but downstairs has plenty and we always manage to find a spot upstairs on the couch. Real comfy coffee, nice music, smily team, very good almond croissant(seriously), very very good Boigos tea, delivered to you with your own TIMER to infuse it to the right level making you get the most of it. Plenty of good food on the counter that we need to try, AND two shelves with jars to ding it to custom your pastry: Nutella, jams, honey, marmite etc. Perfect, really. One cons, this place closes at 6 on Sunday… A little early to enjoy the most of it, but that’s how it is. Def a cool spot to know in the area. It is not always easy to find good coffee places with enough sitting capacity.

I was looking for a nice coffee place to bring my friend: I wanted something«trendy» but not crowded with tourists. Timberyard is perfect for this ! Don’t expect to grab a seat upstairs, but downstairs there is a large space with plenty of tables, chairs and armchairs for a work reunion or a tea break with friends. About the drinks: the menu is impressive ! Macchiato, Cappucino, Latte, Mocha, Chai Latte, Hot Chocolate, Boozy Chocolate, Matcha Latte… Trust me, you’ll find something to drink(and I think the almond milk was available for free). And for the real coffee lovers, fear not, there is fresh brewed exotic coffees everyday… And then comes the food: brownies, blondies, tarts, crodoughs. The treats come from various bakeries in London. I had a cherry cronut(a little bit sticky, maybe because it was the end of the day) and my friend had a massive peanut butter brownie. Yum !! I might go back there for work… Maybe I’ll focus better on my work with a latte than at home ;) [I wrote part of this review on my blog]

Occasion: seeing friends, working on laptop, chilling, morning coffee Location: in the centre of the west end in between covent garden and Leicester Square, not so obviously sign posted though Coffee: very nice, lots of choices of teas bit on the pricier side but you pay for service and atmosphere too Food: all ver fresh and creative choices, the cakes are a big hit here as well as the home made sandwiches £5.50. The quiche and salad is £8 which is quite steep. Atmosphere: excellent and unique. Lots of nice chairs, great wifi, great music playlist, sockets for laptops. Staff: always very friendly and helpful.

Timberyard is the perfect spot if you’re looking for somewhere to get your head down and work or if you want an amazing sweet snack. I stumbled upon this place last week when looking for somewhere to work. It was rammed but it looked so inviting I couldn’t help going in and searching for a seat. I EVEN bumped into our lovely Unilocaler, Sophie, who apparently had the same idea as everyone else — find a corner and WORK! The waiters and waitresses are on point: super speedy, super friendly, bring your order to you, take your orders from you and just cool, top notch people. I was VERY impressed. They also have an undeniable knowledge about the products they are selling you(tea specifically — when to pour, how long to let the leaves stew etc). I grabbed a hot chocolate(standard). It was delicious and the last skinny to be sold apparently. Being January I resisted a cake/cookie/cronut(with agony) and walked away but my gosh, you wait until February — that triple chocolate brownie is calling my name. Definitely the place to be for start up companies, independent workers, those looking for a bite of something sweet and if you’re looking for somewhere cool to hold a meeting. I’m most definitely a fan!

Me(after only 4 days i the UK): I swear to god, if one more person tries to serve me instant coffee… The Unilocal Chorus: Want good coffee in London? Get thee to Timberyard! Me: Hey, thanks guys! You were right! I’m from Portland and I work remotely, which means I spend a good amount of times in coffee shops can be a fairly insufferable coffee snob. And while London does so, so, so, so, SO many things well, coffee just isn’t one of them. Unless you go to Timberyard. I’m in love with this place. First of all, I had both a great latte and and a fantastic cup of black filtered coffee. Second, their selection of pastries is so incredibly massive and delicious. Third, the café is spacious, with great light, plenty of tables, and reliable wifi. Four, the staff is super friendly, even when I spill water all over like a dummy. I make it to London about once a year, and I’m fairly confident that a visit to Timberyard will be on my agenda each trip.

Timberyard is always great. Great coffee. Great staff. Great wifi. I work out of here at least a few times a month and it’s never bad. Sometimes it can be crowded and you’ll need to share tables or fight for space, but it’s a small complaint for such a cool coffeeshops. If you’re in the area and you need a drink or a place to think, this is the place for you.

Timberyard, you just get me. You get me SO hard. Seriously, ever since I left San Francisco I have been in coffee shop withdrawals. I just can’t find many comparable places to work in London. In most coffee chains I’ve tried to use as office space, they either don’t have enough plugs, the wifi is unreliable, it’s overcrowded, or the coffee is blah. But Timberyard gets it right on all accounts, Not only is seating plentiful, you can find outlets in every nook and cranny. The staff is amazing and so friendly. Plus seating resembles a livingroom — you can plop yourself on a purple velvet armchair, a green couch or a dark brown sofa. It’s so comfortable and chill. I love it. Plus nobody rushes you — you can stay as long as you want. It’s ideal whether you’re there working alone like me, with friends, or having a meeting. They even bring you a water bottle so you can stay hydrated while you work off your caffeine buzz. I am in love with their matcha green tea latte. I can’t seem to find many coffee shops that make them in London. And I know how hipster that makes me sound. Oh well. Free wifi. No password. No pretentiousness.
