I used to love toasted but was very disappointed in this occasion. Found 4 hairs in my food. Wine was disgusting from tank. Service poor No spoons, no new plates. One waiter wiped the table(after I requested it) and then flicked the crumbs on the floor. Will need to find a new favourite.

Awesome wine bar focused on natural wine. I know ‘natural wine’ sounds a bit scary to some people but they do have all sorts of things that hit a more restrained level. If you fill up some seats on a Monday you get treated to shop price Mondays which is some seriously well priced drinking. Think a list of wines under £25… yes please… This place is also a wine shop so you can take home everything. If you really like what you were drinking at the table– grab a bottle to take home too. Food is small plates and it is amazing. Day time they generally have a £10 glass of wine and hearty dish special. Highly recommended. Yesterday they had some sort of braised pork shoulder, lentils & root veg. YUM. They write the menu daily so expect to see fresh, seasonal offerings. It’s winter now so last night there was a baked celeriac, roasted onions and fried almonds dish, something with eel and a green purée and a treacle pudding. Pretty bloody great. They make their own cheese and serve the most delicious sopressa, all perfect with their very delicious sour dough. They also have other cheese. All of the small plates are perfect to share between 2 or 3 or 4. Need to order a second if the party gets bigger than 5… But ask the staff if you’re unsure. They know things… They have a really exciting events list so if you’re interested in wine sign up to their newsletter/follow them on titter etc. Lots of spots for groups biggish and small. Dark corners for dates. Comfy bar to sit on if you’re on you own. Highly recommended.

Great brunch spot! Try the smoked salmon, poached eggs, and potato cakes. The Belgian waffle with vanilla mascarpone with toasted hazlenuts is a scrumptious sweet to end the meal.

Loved my meal here. Ordered mainly vegetarian options, and loved them all. Also the wine was excellent, and the atmosphere was great.

Toasted has a great ambiance. Very buzzy and lively. We ordered a carafe of the house red which was good. The food was a bit hit or miss. Duck rillettes was good with lots of meat mixed into the fat. Came with cornichons. Lardo was ok. We got six very thinly sliced pieces which felt a bit measly. They could have been saltier. Carrot salad was a mixture of different coloured carrots cooked different ways. I liked the idea behind it but in practice, this dish didn’t quite work for me. It was still just a plate of carrots. Broccoli was a huge disappointment. The presentation was laughable with a bunch of spears face down on a plate. The dish was bland. It just reminded me of something you could have made at home. Quail wasn’t bad but it was served undercooked. I wish they had warned us of this earlier because I had to get over my initial grossed out reaction in order to eat it. I would have preferred it cooked an additional minute or two to get rid of the pink. It was a bit too underdone for me. The pumpkin was the surprise delight of our meal. Baked pumpkin with roasted endive topped with a few dollops of ricotta. This dish worked really well and looked amazing. The cheese course was good. This, admittedly, is a hard thing to screw up! My partner really enjoyed the apple and raisin compote that came with it. Service was spot on too. I think we had the only waiter who didn’t have a beard. It’s like you have to be a hipster in order to work there! Toasted is great as a concept and I loved the extensive wine list. I would have liked them to do tasting flights. But they need to work on the food. It’s almost there but just needs to be upped a notch. I had an enjoyable meal though.

Had an absolutely disgusting meal here. Everything covered in a sweet sauce. Couldn’t actually eat anything so ended up drinking too much wine and going home to eat toast. That said, we did complain to the manager who was very apologetic but didn’t offer us any discount or reason to return. Avoid

We had a carafe of house white wine while we sat by the bar and the bill came to £21 which unbelievably included a service charge. Very disappointed as we won’t return.

My boyfriend and I have eaten here a few times now and each time the food has been amazing! The atmosphere is quite laid back and the staff really pleasant — especially the managers who I think are also the wine experts here. You don’t get your usual standard ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’ or ‘Chardonnay’. The wine is much, much more unusual but really nice. We once asked for a recommendation of a wine pairing to match a fish dish and red meat dish. Thought it would be impossible… nope! We were recommended an unfiltered white which was absolutely delicious! And the food — the food! If you ever see broad beans on the menu, get them. I’ve honestly never had broad beans so tasty before! Tonight, we took some friends and they loved it too! They had fried doughnuts with carrot butter on the menu for dessert today. Seriously, THE best dessert I’ve ever had! Sorry if this review doesn’t make much sense or is a bit all over the place, I’m in a pretty serious food coma right now. I’d really recommended this place — not your run of the mill wines or food but it is all really really good. Fast becoming one of my favourite restaurants!
