Doesn’t look like your normal British pub from the outside(very 70’s ish modern) but inside it is nice a cozy and friendly staff. My family and I popped in for a pint before retiring for the evening and felt welcomed. This is my favorite pub on our block.

Hmmm. Not somewhere I’d go again. Only came here because I was early for a Unilocal event and there was nothing else around. It had that«old man pub» vibe, décor wasn’t great and generally the place wasn’t very appealing. The menu had typos(don’t know about you, but that really bugs me — one person took the liberty of correcting the errors on one of the menus, which I found rather amusing). On the plus side, the bar staff are really friendly.

I went here with friends for the Football, during Euro2012. It was good, not too busy, three big screens, easy access to the bar and toilets and an outside place to get some fresh air and admire the Banksy across the street. The place does look a bit like a public toilet from the outside, all white tiles, but inside its actually ok. The only gripe really was that they wouldn’t let us eat our chips from Fishbone up the road outside the pub — not even standing up. They made us go to the corner of the street.

I’ve been here a few times now in the afternoons for meetings(one of the campuses of my university is around the block), and I quite like this pub. The outside is a bit scary but the inside is fine. The staff(maybe they’ve changed since the last reviews) are quite friendly. Prices are average for the area. Shame that Strongbow is on tap. But you get a nice view of a Banksy across the road!

From the outside, there is little about the Tower Tavern that stands out as remarkable. It’s in a modern, nondescript building across from the west-facing entrance of BT Tower and flanked by other office buildings and a petrol station. But any temporary misgivings are soon dashed by the welcoming staff, the good selection of beverages, and the well-above-average food offerings. And if that isn’t enough, the service is far superior to nearly any other West End pub on a normal night. The Tower is run by a husband and wife team who are experts in delivering the best in customer service and quality from their bar and kitchen. What’s better(for us customers at least) is that one or both are usually present to ensure that all is running smoothly. All is not lost on the owners’ days off, as their staff are well trained to deliver to the same high standards. It’ is certainly not the case in most West End corporate-owned tourist pubs with student workers who could give a toss because the manager works in an office miles away. The Tower is tied to Greene King, so IPA is always on. However, they feature an ever changing selection of seasonal and guest ales, all of which are very well kept, as the guv’nor is an ale aficionado himself. Recent favourites have been Bath Gem, St Austell’s Proper Job, and Brains Reverend James. They also have a great stock of single malt whiskeys, from the familiar Laphroiag and Macallans to my personal favourite Lagavulin 16, which is normally found in posh lounges and restaurants for multiples on the price. Then there is the food. The Sunday roast is beyond compare. The roast beef and lamb are to die for. I’v e not had the chicken, but have watched other patrons enjoying it with a watering mouth. Speaking of chicken, the Tower also does the best Buffalo-style chicken wings this side of the pond. And the hand-packed burgers aren’t to be missed either. For most London pubs, if they look crap(and I’m looking at you, 90% of Russell Square tourist trap establishments), they probably are. But don’t miss the Tower Tavern, for what it may lack in curb appeal, it more than makes up for in service, selection, and satisfaction. Cheers P & K!

Went here twice this weekend. I found this while cruising around the area while I was doing my coin-op laundry down the street. Knowing that I had some time between washes and drying and that there was at least some football on the telly, I headed in here for a pint, small snack and some football. The staff was very friendly and made sure you were taken care of. The prices are reasonable on their decent sized selection of beers. They also have a full bar. Knowing that they show all football matches and that Manchester United was playing Tottenham in the Carling Cup final, it was an easy decision to come here. Warning: If you are a Man United supporter in London, beware what you come in wearing here as this is most definitely a Tottenham Spurs bar. There were some good rowdy supporters chanting on their Spurs. I had my United shirt on and had to be a bit coy of it to make sure I got out in one piece. No, it’s not a rough place, I just kid.

Was always confused by this pub, the building it is in doesn’t seem to suit the kind of pub its trying to be, but having given it a try on a couple of occasions I’ve found it to be alright place. Its name comes from the looming nearby BT tower. It has a couple of ales and a couple of screens for football. The prices are not too bad, in particular the food looks very reasonable and next time I am there I will try to eat there too.

Not the worst pub in the area, but still pretty bad. The staff aren’t that nice, and neither is the clientele. The drinks are about average in cost an in taste, but there are better ones at hand in pubs close-by. The interior design ain’t that pretty either, and nobody really wants to look out across the road at a petrol station or a concrete carpark either!
