I have never taken the time to write a review on Unilocal, however this was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. My girlfriend took me here for my birthday while we were in town, and the meal started out great. Drinks were good and the salted peppers were enjoyable as well. That’s when everything went downhill… quick. I shouldn’t even say quick, because it took over an hour to receive our main dishes, and when they finally arrived, the preparation and presentation truly made me sick to my stomach. We ordered a broccoli dish with bacon and tomatoes. The broccoli looked and tasted like the kind that you buy from the supermarket and microwave in the steamer bag. It had a soft texture and previously frozen flavor. I know they say everything is better with bacon, but even bacon could not save this dish. As if things could get any worse, they did. We also ordered an anchovy dish. I don’t know if this was my mistake or if the chef was just really high when creating the menu, but it was actually worse than the broccoli. It was served cold on a bed of fresh out the bag potato chips(yum?), and covered in a hot sauce to mask the fact that it was whole anchovies on a bed of potato chips. I wish that I could say that the service was even good, but that would be a lie. Our waitress ignored our table the entire time we were there, and wasn’t even around when we were trying to get our bill to leave(yes I paid for the meal, don’t ask why). After working in the restaurant industry for 6 years, I have always had a lot of patience and understanding, but this meal was just terrible.

We had tapas dinner for three and everything we had was just delightful! I lived in Spain for some time and i found the place authentic and a solid representation of spanish cuisine. The grilled goat chese with honey was delicious! Thanks for the good service and pleasant experience!

Loved this place! Sangria was fantastic and we ordered meat and cheese platters as well as 2 – 3 dishes each and were all stuffed. Everything I had was excellent. Very attentive service. Will definitely return.

Those guys make the best sangria in London! There, I’ve said it! Brindisa is one of London’s top players when it comes to Spanish food(they actually supply a lot of other restaurants). As far as food is concerned, we ordered the whole lot, getting the ball rolling with the obligatory Padron peppers, which were perfectly cooked and sprinkled with just enough Maldon salt flakes to balance out the sweetness of the peppers. We also got a plate of charcuterie(which I don’t have any picture of as I was far too busy fighting for the last slice of chorizo… very un-British of me, I know!), along with some patatas bravas. The charcuterie was absolutely top-notch, with decadent amounts of fat running through it and excellent value at £12 for a massive plate(it was enough for 5 people to feast on without any of us fighting too much for the last bits!). We added in some veggies with sauteed broccoli(meh) and AMAZING Spinach, raisins & pine nuts, then came some sliiiiiiightly naughtier vegetables in the form of Berenjenas Fritas. And yet, they ARE as lush and delicious as they look, thanks to very thin batter and all that glistening honey! Last but not least, we got some Croquetas del Dia(gooey little balls of happiness, as far as I’m concerned) and Grilled chorizo on toast, which was every bit as good as the one they serve in rolls at their Borough market stall. Add to all of this delicousness the fact that the staff was lovely(and a few more jugs of that excellent sangria), and I’ll leave smilling from ear to ear(and very full). Which is pretty much what happened at Brindisa.

Oh my God, this has got to be the biggest rip off restaurant I have been too! We walked in today to get a drink and some snacks and couldn’t believe it that it’s probably they only place in London selling red and white wine by the glass in measures of 125 ml for the same price which you would pay for a 175 ml in most places. The cheapest wine was for 4.25 quidI think with most more than 5 quid Got a sherry instead for the same price and padron peppers and left! Never going back

We went for lunch to check out Tramontana Brindisa in trendy Shoreditch. The restaurant is light and airy, with a great outside terrace at the rear of the restaurant. Whilst we made our menu choices, we snacked on Padron peppers [£4.50] which had a dusting of sea salt. Our mains included Lamb Chump on a bed of sweet potato mash [£9.00], succulent pieces of medium meat complemented by the sweetness from the mash; Chorizo in red wine [£5.95], mini chorizo morsels complemented by the flavour of the red wine it was cooked in, but sadly swimming in too much olive oil for our liking; and Fideua de Sepia(short pasta similar to vermicelli with cuttlefish, prawns and a flamed roasted garlic alioli) . Our favourite mains were Grilled Iberico Pork Shoulder Loin [£11.00], with the flavours from its beautiful acorn fed pork working with the flambé orange and raisins like sunshine on a plate; as well as the Berenjenas fritas(fried aubergines) [£5.50] which had a wonderful texture and flavour combination made in heaven of aubergine slices coated in semolina, fried and drizzled with chestnut honey and pine nuts. Next time, we will need to save space for some dessert as we had our eye on the Tarta de Santiago(Almond Cake) [£4.75] and the Torrijas(milk soaked bread with honey and spices, dipped in egg and fried in olive oil, similar to pain d’epice/ French Toast) with Apple Crumble [£4.00].

Next time, we will need to save space for some dessert as we had our eye on the Tarta de Santiago(Almond Cake) [£4.75].

Hands down some of the best eggplant/aubergine/berenjena I’ve ever eaten in my life. This tapas-style restaurant isn’t the best suited for vegetarians but there are sufficient options for a meal and the aubergine males it worth a stop. For carnivores, the menu is a delight. It is a bit pricey as would be expected for a place like this, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Mind you, you want to aim for something bigger than the smallest tables s they quickly become overfilled.

We were craving Spanish food as we do quite often, and lucky for us, this place was just around the corner from our apartment. We walked over around 10pm on a Tuesday evening. The place was pretty empty. There was one couple at the front of the restaurant and another at the back near us. The waiters were all spanish which to me is a good sign. They were also super friendly. The vibe is not as dark and romantic as I prefer my dining environments to be but we felt very comfortable. A bit of low music in the background and the waiters most importantly minded their own business unless we made eye contact. We ordered pardon peppers, pan con tomate, croquettes, and a few other bits and bobs. The best thing about this place honestly was the aioli. We ordered a side of patatas braves and the aioli was green! I don’t know what they put in it apart from garlic but it was a herb that made it EXQUISITE! My girlfriend says this is the second best Spanish food she’s had in London. I disagree(it comes in 3rd on my list) but she is Spanish after all.

This place was pricey but the food pretty good. The wine selection was great as well but i’d rather walk 3 mins more to Laxeiro Tapas Bar and get the same great food for ½ the price!

In the main room, there is a large open kitchen where you can see the staff cooking your tapas, this makes the place really lively and friendly ! There is a large choice of tapas from Pan Con Tomate to Patatas Bravas, Jamon, … You can also drink white or(and?) sangria. Not the best I’ve drunk(there is a strong Almond taste in there sangria) but Ok. The tapas are quite the same, not the BESTOFMYLIFE but really Ok. We went there for Valentines day with a bunch of firends, what is really firendly is that each one choose his taps and then everything is put on the middle of the table and everyone shares everything. Good place also to bring a date ;) The staff is really smiley, I found that a bit«fake» the fact that they all have a spanish accent, but I guess this is to be regarded as «authentique» :) What I really liked is that … It’s possible to talk in this bar, you don’t have to scream to be heard and I’ve really appreciated it !

i am really surprised this place gets only 2.5 stars(from 2 reviews at the time of writing) this place is much better that! I’m a huge fan of tapas and this place looks the part. There is a large open kitchen and from my vantage point at the bar i could see all the chefs running around cooking up some fancy looking treats. i have to admit we came here after eating somewhere else so we didn’t taste a tonne of dishes. we had some wine and shared 2 – 3 plates amongst 4 of us which were all very good. From the small sample we tried, i will definitely be back to try some more…

mmm. tapas! i’ve been to the previous place that is now the tramontana, and all i’ve got to say is that i’m glad that i actually felt boozily satisfied after my meal. servers here are informed and good at recommending the best of your desires — i would hope so since they have a heavy spanish accent to accompany. the selection of wine is also really good — ask for help if you’re not too sure what goes well w your meal. prices are pretty reasonable, and it seemed like a good place for date nights! lots of great sharing platters(obviously), i would get a bunch of plates to share w the table, more selection is always good. it’s a new restaurant so didn’t think we needed a reservation, but i made sure that we had one before; sure am glad we did because it ended up being packed. it’s good to see that there’s more variety popping up around this area that isn’t another viet restaurant.

The tapas here are pretty damn tasty. Better than Pinchitos, but not quite as good(close though!) to Eyre Brothers. Favorites were the baked eggs with chili(it was a special), goats cheese with honey, canalones, any of the rice dishes, and the potato with duck egg. The house wine is good enough, atmosphere is buzzing but not too chaotic, staff are friendly, and prices are pretty standard when it comes to tapas. It can get pricey quickly if come in too hungry, but it’s hard not to order everything! Expect to spend £25−40 if you plan on having a few glasses of wine and have a pretty strong appetite.
