Friday night and the take out line was super busy! Always a good sign. A bit pricey at £15 for 2 standard cod and chips but they were very fresh and tasty. Pie and chips comes to about £9 for two. This might be a local chippie for us if we can’t be bothered to walk or drive further out. Good service.

Potential to do much better than it is doing for its setting. Horrible horrible take away fish and chips, scampi, from it’s take away place next door. Poisonous fish which was off! Very terrible, the worst fish take away in the North London area which is in a nice setting. Absolutely surprised with this terrible quality of food! You could never imagine fish tasting this bad and from a restaurant of a nice simple setting, with a good name. Their take away should be the best in North London by its design, to have a restaurant next door to it and a good name. If there have been good reviews in the press from the restaurant, did the press just happen to get a good fish on the day ???(because they are press) or did/do the press and public just have poor taste and standards. Well one thing’s for sure there isn’t room for a bad fish, these ‘mistakes’ do not happen.

EASILY the best fish & chips in the country, I have read a few disgruntled reviews on this place, I can only say they have no idea«too expensive» a few said, you only get what you pay for & the fish in this restaurant is second to none, it is fantastic and second to none, if you like jellied eels for a starter then you must try the ones here in fact they are the best I have ever had. I drive from Buckinghamshire to go there once every two weeks, a round trip of 3 hours & really worth it Try the middle skate, it is just so unbelievable, fantastic. Well done two brothers.

I don’t get it. Overpriced, mediocre fish and chips in a classy setting.

Gave a second chance but this time was worst, won’t come back again, never, it was horrible, even couldn’t finish my food and I complaint to the manager but he charged the full amount. If I could take stars I would gave them –5 stars.

i experienced the fish and chips take out side of the business. i can only say i gave most places a second chance. but have not returned to this restaurant. they were a little busy, but still had to wait for too long for a couple of meals(over a quarter of an hour.) when we unwrapped to eat, the fish batter was under-cooked. chips, over cooked and cold(left on hot hold too long.) busy?, yes, don’t skimp on quality. poor selection of add on sides(for customers)/sales(for business) available. disappointed as its the only fish and chips shop i have found, yet!

A few evenings ago I went to Two Brothers to get fish and chips to take away. I left without anything after having paid. The man who served me was very unfriendly. He did not say I would have to wait a long time for it and 15 mns later I as still waiting. They were not busy at all but he did not speak with me as I was waiting. The top of the counter was dirty. The rest did not look too clean either. In the end I left as I did not want to wait any longer. I regularly pass that place and the take away is rarely busy. It used to be though.

There are fish and chips and there there’s fish cuisine. Two Brothers offers both and they do so with style and substance. The classic battered fish and chips whether takeaway or at the restaurant is creamy, moist and filling. The portions are huge and the chunky chips are cooked to perfection; crispy on the outside with a light and fluffy inside that makes them absolutely moreish. If you’re eating at the restaurant you’ll be given a pot of home made tartar sauce which whilst a touch greasy(my only nit-pick) isn’t too shabby at all. The mushy peas and coleslaw are good enough that they’re worth mentioning and we haven’t even covered the rest of the menu. Mediterranean prawns in a garlic butter sauce are absolutely sublime, Tony’s Arbroath Smokies is phenomenal and quite possibly my favorite dish in the world, not to mention the starters which range from oysters to avocado and prawns. The quality of the ingredients is superb, from seafood and chips right down to the avocados. This is a place which takes its food very seriously indeed, buying their fish fresh from the market and refusing to open on the days when the market is closed. I haven’t even covered the excellent quality of their coffees or the great range of deserts or indeed the quality of their grilled fish, but I feel I’ve said enough. Two Brothers is definitely well worth a trip to Finchley to experience seafood as it’s supposed to be — tasty and reasonably priced!(and psst. for your first dish do try the Smokies, you won’t be disappointed!)

I really do love the fish and chippy but rate it second to Sea Shell of Lisson Grove. There is however no reason to not make the journey to North London as Two Brothers really does serve lovely fish and chips and lunch and dinner are equally lovely.

This is the best fish and chips I have been to in London. Some say that Toff’s in Muswell hill is the best– I find the chips better at Toff’s but the fish is greasier there. Do not get the fish in Matzo meal– it is very dry.

It seems an awfully long way for me to go to get some fish and chips, but last year, I made the trek in my car which took me about an hour and a half. There were a few more reasons than the fact that Two Brothers are reported to do some of the finest fish and chips in London. I was going with a friend of mine who used to date the owners son. She wanted to show her face and say hello. I am glad that we made the journey. The décor is restaurant quality. There was an art deco feel to the large venue, with booths and banquette seating. It is the type of place that you take your time enjoying your meal — not somewhere where you wait for the fish to fry while you sit on a plastic chair reading a dog eared copy of The Sun. We ordered a good bottle of white, and ran through the menu. While, of course, there is the standard fish and chips on offer, the menu is more sophisticated than the average chippy. The place was packed, and good fun. My haddock was perfect; large, not too fatty but crispy and delicious. The owner came over and sat with us, chatting away till the wee hours. I left at two am, long after all the happy customers had gone. I didn’t get back home till gone three in the morning, but like I said, the trip was well worth it.
