Really nice venue with lot of corridors and hidden places. Spend there few days at a conference and it was fantastic. The food was decent, as well as café, wine and whisky store. Vinopolis has also great location, just by the river in a heart of London.

We just got off the tube and headed to the Borough market. Unfortunately for us the market was closed on Sundays so we found a street food vendor and had lunch. We walked around the Victorian streets and stumbled onto this fantastic place. At first we thought this was just another spirit and wine store, but it was not until the wife did a little exploring did we figure out you could do tours of both wines and spirits. We did not have time on our busy touring schedule, but next visit to London we will definitely be back. Each room talks about a different aspect of wine, they also having tasting so you get an idea of what they are trying to explain. This was very unique and interesting to us. Since we were heading to Scotland, my main interest for this trip was scotch and the Whiskey Exchange, which is a part of this complex had an amazing selection with a knowledgeable staff willing to give a few samples. Their prices were competitive with the rest of the market and I plan on ordering soon online, so I will give an update with a review on how that goes. Anyhow if you are into wine and have a few hours to kill check this place out. I wish we did, but be aware this place as most of Europe closes at 5pm.

We stumbled across this as another establishment close by did not meet our needs. GREAT wine selection and a great food selection made our night out fantastic!

I joined a Vinopolis wine tasting in the London Eye — it was such a fun experience! We enjoyed two trips around and tasted 5 different varieties: prosecco, white, 2 reds and a port. It was a nice broad range to try and they were all truly amazing. The staff was very informative, however, if you know your stuff, I can imagine the explanations will bore you since they were basic(maybe they have more advanced tastings?). This is a great gift for someone(even if they live in London) or a great date idea for a special occasion.

Took my mum for a mothers day gift. The staff are really knowledgeable and helpful. Found the basic package was enough but happy to learn you could simply purchase more tokens if you wanted to taste more wines. Excellent choice and interactive screens to learn a little more about your tastes. Would definitely go again!

This place is pretty damn awesome. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because its pricey. I went with my flatmate, who’s a blogger, so we both got in for free so she could blog about the event. We first learned a little bit about wines, then we were off to wander about the building, drinking as much wine as we could with the amount of credit we had on our cards. This is a great place for a business party or to a to begin a hen party!

I don’t normally drink wine but I went along to a special Lindt Excellence wine tasting event and I was very surprised. I really enjoyed the night. We sat down at a table along with some other people(there was about 6 tables in the room) and the wine man talked us through how Lindt chocolate came about and produced and then about wines. Then we tasted different wines with different chocolate and gave our opinions. Very interesting and different and amazing how a piece of chocolate can make wine taste different by making it either taste milder or stronger or sweeter.

I remember coming to Vinopolis for one of their famous wine tasting tours when it first opened — ages ago — and getting happily pissed on loads of small glasses of delicious wines and sherries. My latest visit was altogether more sober as Vinopolis was the venue for a two-day conference I attended here. I kept wondering where they had hidden all their barrels while the place was filled with people listening to presentations and joined in panel discussions across two floors. Just like all those years ago, the place seemed like a maze and I finally found my way around on the last day. Catering was very pared down and limited to bottled water and tea and coffee only but overall this seems a somewhat unlikely but very professional setting for a serious event.

It bothers me to read negative comments about people being loud in Vinopolis. If you want something tranquil and classy, crack out your credit card and go on an Arblaster and Clarke tour in South Africa. Don’t go to wine tasting in central London which is flanked by half a dozen tourist attractions. People will be drunk and annoying. By people, I mean me. It is pricey but if you make the most of what is on offer, the entry fee will just become a hazy memory of yesterday.

Excellent selection of wines, knowledgeable staff, tasters available — what a great way for any wine lover to wish away an hour. Prices range from £8−9 through to £800+ so there really is something for everyone. There is also the whiskey exchange next door if you fancy something a little stronger. Great place to stop off if you need advice on matching your wine to specific dish or pick up something special for a dinner party.

This is a review for Bar Blue which is attached to Vinopolis: Stumbled upon this bar whilst on a wander along the river and I have to say that I really enjoyed the experience. It was made even better by the fact that it was 2−4−1 on cocktails during my visit. The clientele was mainly business men being a little loud but not enough for it to be a distraction and certainly not enough for it to put me off my drink! I went for a rhubarb & ginger mojito and while cocktails aren’t normally my thing I found this one to be really enjoyable and up there with some of the best I’ve had. They also serve some tapas style meals which looked to be more deep fried than gourmet so while I wouldn’t consider spending the whole night here I’d definitely visit again

I was here on a company whisky tasting visit after work and we had the place to ourselves. Other than getting lost in the maze of a place, we were settled in a room with lots of whiskies ready to try and greeted with a whisky cocktail. All good. Then it got outside of my comfort zone. I don’t really drink. If I drink, it’s any light beer, or a disoronno with a carbonated or juice mixer. I’m pretty unadventurous and recently I’m on the G&T that I discovered(Langleys and Fevertree tonic water). So we moved onto the whisky tastings and given a sheet to fill in like in class. Then our host attempted a history lesson on the beginnings of whisky. I couldn’t have been more disinterested. I think there were 7 whiskies to try and it took close to 2 hours to guess the aromas and try them all. Not to mention they were incredibly strong so it was impossible to drink more than a few sips, even when diluted! The chilli whisky was definitely an interesting one though. It was a nice tough that there was a prize for correctly matching the correct ingredients/noses to the right whisky type. Suffice to say I didn’t win. I imagine for somebody that has an interest and a nose in this kind of things, they’d find the experience incredibly interesting. As it’s not my thing and the fact it felt like being in school I didn’t have that great a time. However that takes nothing away from it being a well organised event. The food afterwards in the restaurant was excellent though. Lovely bread. Nice mains and desserts in a solid warm setting. I would definitely come back here for a meal.

Reading some of the other reviews, I do agree about the price. However, for those looking to budget, a little tip. Look on and you can find a half price wine tasting experience, which is exactly what a group of us did(we are ex-students after all, all about the bargains!) So armed with our half price voucher, we got the basic experience for £13.50, which was a bargain! For this we got a quick crash course in how to taste wine followed by a card with 7 credits on. We were then let loose in the tasting rooms, with several different sections each containing different wine varieties. Depending on how pricey the wine was, a taster cup(about 30 mL) was 1 – 4 credits. Of course I went for the cheaper wines to taste more and pretend that I was appreciating the different grape, climate, vintage etc. to be honest I was excited at getting to run around and press buttons on an auto-dispenser to get the wine! But to be serious, the tasting rooms were well set out, with some interesting information about the wines, the different countries and how the grape crop was affected by each climate. There was also a separate champagne bar, tapas section where we purchased some really tasty breads and cured meats to accompany our wine explorations. All in all, 3+ hours well spent with one of my favourite tipples

Had such a great time here with colleague tasting wine arranged by country. Our little lesson gave me enough knowledge to fool all the lawyers I work with that I know a little about wine. The Gin area was my fave. Will definitely go back!

We didn’t do a tour but had our holiday party/fancy dress party at vinopolis. This was awesome starting t with champagne and then off to dinner in another room with an amazing three course meal and a fragrant Sauvignon blanc and a smooth cab. Good times!!!

I guess that £27 was a bit too much for several drinks, got from a machine and not even from a freshly opened bottle. Apart from that, I liked the place — it definitely has ambiance and makes you feel all classy, learning about the wine and its specifics. The experience was most definitely interesting and worth it. If you’re looking to try something different, give it a go.

Super fun time! My friend and I decided to use one of our free weekends and take the wine tour here. Now mind you, I’m from Northern California, I know what a wine tour at a real winery is like. And my friend, well, she has several wine subscriptions and could probably navigate Solvang with her eyes closed. I really enjoyed the tour. I’m very new to wine and the nuances. Even for a veteran like my friend, it was a good time. Most of the interactive tables and stations were operative and fun to play with. The little café inside that serves tapas was pretty good too. If I ever come back, I’ll definitely make a stop here. There’s also a shop and man, I never knew there were so many whiskeys!

I just love it. Spent several evenings there with friends and/or visitors. Vinopolis has just a nice atmosphere and you can gain some basic knowledge about wine tasting, heritage and regions while getting drunk Not to forget, they have a decent selection of wines on sale! I usually ended up at Tas Pide, around the corner at Shakespeare’s Globe, afterwards for some food.

£27 for wine tour and 7 free drinks, this was mis sold to me! They have machines hooked up to wine bottles that upon entry of the key card that they give you it dispenses 2 – 3 sips of wine for you to taste in exchange for 1 – 3 credits. You get 7 credits in the £27 package and most of the wines are 1 credit each but the Desert, champagne and English sparkling wines are 2 – 3. I personally felt like for the money you should get a bit more. As if you spent it all on champagne you would be paying £27 for a 10 minute talk on wine and less than half a glass of champagne! There was a group of six of us and despite the fact that we hoped we would be walking out there leg less after 7 glasses of wine. We had a really good time deciding how to spend our credits and enjoyed discovering new wines. If your lucky you can hang round the machines when they are changing the bottles and they give you the top bit of wine so they can get the«sucker thing» in without spillage. They said that if you enter your email into a machine it tells you what wine you have tasted. But that did not work. Good addition to the markets in the local area. Next stop Denbies

What could be better than the combination of wine, chocolate, and the love of your life? My fiancé surprised me to a wine and chocolate tasting course at Vinopolis during one of my visits to see him in London and boy, were we excited. We arrived late but no matter — once we arrived, we were welcomed and asked to sit down so we could wait for the rest of the class to arrive. Excited wine and chocolate enthusiasts are seated in a large rectangle with numbeous empty glasses and pieces of chocolates in front of them with the instructor in the middle, ready to ask engaging questions and urge you to pair chocolate and wines with their guidance to determine what blends best. We had a variety of people with us, mostly couples, but people varying in age. Some people were related, others were on dates, but all were ready to drink, have fun, and indulge. And we did. We learned about each wine and chocolate and were encouraged to taste things as instructed or as we liked. We discussed what we tasted and the different notes and flavors(did we notice citrus? berries?). In between, we snuck bites of chocolate and enjoyed bigger sips of wine than were intended but had a laugh. It was a great experience. Wine tastings at vinopolis(whichever you choose) are great for groups or a date. We can’t wait to go back — it was an evening well spent, no matter how late we were!
