Goods: If you are in the market for a tweed suit, I highly recommend checking out Walker Slater’s offerings. In store you can really get a feel for the fabric, the cut and what they are trying to achieve, but the website can you give good indications as well:
I purchased a three piece tweed that has worn really well so far and picked up a scarf for my wife and one for my mother. WS offers tailoring just up the block and, for the hem on my pants at least, it was included in the price of the suit. For those of us residing outside of the EU, make sure to get a VAT receipt and turn in at the airport for a refund.
Service: Very high level of service in this store. I returned three times and encountered 5 – 6 different employers — all very cheerful and knowledgeable on the WS line. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the fabric, the look, the size and the cut of the suit I was buying – very accommodating.
Ambiance: A nice open space, economically used to display the merchandise well and plenty of well placed mirrors.
Recommendation: even if you are not in the market for suit, worth visiting to check out all of their offerings.
