Warren Evans

I have mixed feelings about Warren Evans. On one hand, the service we’ve received from their Hammersmith store and more generally has been good. Prices are good. Delivery was relatively quick. I love the way you can test out pretty much every mattress they sell in their showroom before laying down the cash. Supporting a British company in a market with few alternatives at this price point feels good. And the mattress we eventually bought — king size, pocket sprung, is comfy and feels like it’ll last for years. A month after having purchased both bed and mattress, I was lining up a five star review for Warren Evans.
But after spending a grand for bed and mattress, our bed frame has broken twice in five months. In the same place, on one of the end corners, and due to nothing more than getting on to the bed. The first time they responded quickly and helpfully. The second time. well, we’re looking at up to a week before they repair it. It all highlights an unfortunate truism about customer service in the event of disappointment, namely that it’s no substitute for good quality of the service or product in the first place. Sure, Warren Evans will have repaired our bed twice. But we’ve also been inconvenienced twice.
Right now my experience with Warren Evans has been just about satisfactory. Which direction I update my score in over the coming months depends on what happens next, specifically how long the repairs last this time. Indefinitely, I hope.

Doesn’t look all that when you first arrive, tucked away under the railway arches. But there’s a huge showroom inside. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful but not too pushy and leave you to have a lie down on whatever beds you want. I’m delighted with the one I chose. It’s like staying in a classy hotel every night, climbing into my bed with its new mattress. Recommended.
