Don’t go for the sushi. I don’t know why, but just don’t. I tried a few pieces and it just isn’t what I’ve grown accustomed to expect from sushi. I think my mind refuses to wrap itself around the concept of «fast food» sushi(or buffet sushi, for that matter, and for another review). California rolls and veggie rolls are a-okay, but the raw fish is a tough one for me at a fast food joint. Ever watch«Monsters Inside Me?» That said, I really enjoyed the super quick and fresh soups and teriyaki bowls. This is a great place to pick up a super fast and yummy lunch or snack. There are lots of really healthy options and everything is super affordable, which is a bonus when you are eating dang near every meal out for two weeks. There are fun sleek chairs and tables to eat at, but the few times I stopped in here to grab something was to go eat in my room with my books and laptop for company. Eat the soups first. They leave a good impression, particularly in cold and wet January in London… then go back for some of the other eats. Again, recommend staying away from the sushi. I just can’t. Really… no.

If you eat in, they’ll charge you extra but the food was pretty good, but not your typical Asian taste. There were hot food options, like soup noodles with chicken katsu, and also sushi. The sushi was yummy, although not that big, portion-wise. This chain is all over London and is a good option for quick, easy take-out.

there are plenty of reviews for wasabi brand — this is a store review. Selection: It’s a large store, with a huge selection of sushi. Sometimes they are out of the seared salmon just after lunch. Cleanliness: It seems quick — but at the lunch rush it is a bit ridiculous — sitting down surrounded by other peoples clutter — this is indicative of the businesses and popularity of this particular branch. Seating: they have a lot of seating for a wasabi, I’ll get a photo next time in in there. nothing outdoor. Staff — it and miss, alwys polite, but not particularly keen to negotiate changes, or engage in friendly chit chat. I think this is another symptom of how busy this store gets at lunch. If i take my lunch a little later — then this place is usually friendlier, tidier, less busy but with less stock… but fewer people in the queues! from a FODMAP friendly stance — they list their ingredients(including wheat, onion, etc) below each of the options — makes for simple browsing — I stick to the salmon

We came here for the cheap food… and you really get what you pay for. I got the chicken yakisoba, and it was super salty. They did give you an enormous portion though… Its a take-out kind of place, and for some reason they closed upstairs when we were here, so we couldn’t eat inside. Boo.

Wasabi(the bigger one) on Tottenham court road is a treat for sushi fans on the go. The range of fresh sushi, soumen and Japanese style hot meals they do here is pretty impressive. All presented immaculately, the biggest problem you’ll have with this place is making a choice of which food to have! If you imagine a Japanese version of the sandwich shop Pret, then Wasabi is it. Be aware that prices displayed are take out prices and if you want to eat in, everything costs a little bit more though.

Went to Wasabi for the first time in warren street yesterday. Bought some chicken and rice for £5.45.Got home started eating found a long brown hair just sitting there in the middle one the chicken. I was so disgusted I didn’t finish eating it .had to throw it away. 5.45 wasted.

Pretty boring sushi chain around London. Its quick and cheap and the chicken curry I got tasted all right but nothing to write about… oh wait…

As you’ll find out the second you walk in, Wasabi is a pretty simple place, and as a result, I’m going to give it a pretty simple review: Star 1 — Was the service good? Wasabi is cheap to the point where they literally don’t even have anywhere to sit, so that being the case, «good» equates to «fast», and Wasabi is very fast. Star granted. Star 2 — How were the portions relative to the cost? This is where Wasabi truly shines. While most dishes are 5GBP, I decided to opt for the 6GBP«Large Portion» and was baffled to find what must have been 500g(1lb.+) of chicken and rice in my to-go cup. This was more than enough food, and for only 6GBP, I was impressed. Star granted. Stars ¾ — Did the food taste good? This is a bit of a tricky one. The food was decent, and I’d compare it to a slightly less tasty Panda Express for my stateside friends. Wasabi is by no means authentic, and instead of the proper rice cookers it’s clear that they simply cook their rice in a big pot, which resulted in some hard pieces. However, for 6GBP, did I enjoy the food at least half as much as I would a 12GBP meal? You bet, so yes, the food tasted good. However, it didn’t earn the second star. Star 5 — Would you eat if every day if you could? Wasabi’s model is overly generous portions of quickly prepared food for a fiver, and that’s a rare model in London. However, it’s impossible for me to recommend any Asian cuisine in London outside of China Town(between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square) unless it’s unbelievably high end. Come to Wasabi if you’re absolutely dying for large quantities of food on the cheap. 3⁄5.

A guilty lunchtime pleasure. Great pots of uncomplicated curry and rice, excellent lunch at desk for an inconsiderate open plan office worker like me.

I visited Wasabi once, two years ago, and I have never forgotten it. It’s a testament to how much I liked it that I have just spent about an hour scouring the internet for it(since I couldn’t remember the name). Wasabi on Warren St/Tottenham Court Road is perfect for anyone who is looking for good quality Japanese food at reasonable prices, either to eat in or takeaway. The takeaway service seems to be very popular — as you walk in, you’ll see a chiller cabinet against one wall, filled with individually wrapped pieces of different types of sushi(nigiri, hosomaki, temaki and onigiri to name just a few). You’ll also see a hot counter ahead of you, where staff are waiting to make things like soup and bento. You can take a tray and select whatever you want from the chiller cabinet, and then head up to the counter to order anything extra. They bag it all up for you and off you go. Alternatively, there is a seating area if you want to eat in. From my point of view, this is a far better system than that offered by other sushi restaurants. You can take your time selecting whatever takes your fancy. Price-wise, I think it’s very reasonable. Wrapped sushi usually costs between 50p-85p for a packet of 2 pieces. Hand rolls cost about £2, onigiri £1. Bento are around £4. The price list is on the website, accessible via the ‘order online’ link. Overall, well worth a visit. I will be in London next month(the reason I was looking for it in the first place), and I will definitely be making a stop there.
