Ok chippy. A generous sized portion, but the chips where still undercooked and pale. Battered sausage was only half battered and they didn’t have any buttered rolls.(Visit — 24/05/2015 Lunch)

I have been in London for 6 months, having moved over from Dublin, I was under the impression that good fish and chips(real chips, fillet fish) were easy to get in London, not so. It wasn’t until I found this chipper in canning town that I had my cravings for traditional fish and chips satisfied. My order: fresh cod, battered sausage and a large chips. Cod: the owner insisted on making everything from fresh and asked us if we had time to wait, it was no problem so he took a fresh cod filet and dipped it in a medium light batter, fried it to perfection. 1. The fish was fresh and batter crisp yet moist 2. The fish was big thick flakes of cod rather than that processed white grunge you get in lesser places. The sausage: my girlfriend had this. It hit the spot. Nicely spiced, thick and fresh tasting. The chips, again being created from fresh I was delighted — no reheats. The chips were real. All different sizes. Big ones, fat ones, small ones, soft ones– just delicious. I cannot express how happy I was to finally get proper fish and chips, a few even had the skin on absolutely yum!!! Owner was friendly and really pleasant, will be back, don’t usually bother writing reviews but the portions were so large and the food was so good I just had to give something back to the community. I spent quite some time searching for fish and chips and instead I got frozen shards of starch. Well not anymore. Superb.
