If it was possible to rate 0 stars I would. Food is greasy and mediocre and the service is appalling. I’m basing this on my experiences at the Trafford Centre restaurant. We were one of a about five other tables so it wasn’t busy. There were four of us, we had three starters, four mains and two deserts and it took them over 2hrs to get this all two us(I still question why we even stayed for desert when the rest was so bad). We were not asked once if we wanted more drinks, found it impossible to get any member of staffs attention so ended up getting up to find someone whenever we wanted a drink. When the staff weren’t serving food, they were just stood around chatting. We weren’t the only table not being served drinks! The other people near us also had to get up to find a member of staff. I emailed a complaint to Café Rouge about our experience and they kindly offered me a £20 voucher, so I went back to give them another chance and it was just as bad! The food was in fact worse and the service hadn’t improved. By now I don’t see the point in sending another email. They’re beyond help and there are so many better places to eat in the Trafford Centre.

Café Rouge is a beautiful place right in the centre of town, overlooking Manchester. The staff are warm and friendly on arrival. The décor is very sophisticated and modern, but still has an element of France. The bathroom is spacious and bright and you can clearly see it is very clean. The food is also very delicious.

If you like food, you will hate it here. Poor excuse for so called french cuisine the only thing authentic is the miserable waiting staff, just like in most French restaurants. The food is shameful, i’d say bland but it isn’t even remotely that memorable, more like pitiful waste of ingredients blended together then packed like KFC then warmed by someone with an NVQ Level 1, probably gained at from the world famous Colonel Sanders school of food.

Very bog standard, Sandwiches were like cardboard. Processed and over priced.

My wife ate here a few months back and to be honest she wasn’t impressed. On the plus side, there was a lot of choice on the menu(with even more on the Specials boards), and the prices were fairly reasonable. However, the service was slow, and the food wasn’t great either — one of her party felt it tasted as though it had just been heated up in a microwave. All of this is a bit of a shame as we had a much better experience of Café Rouge in Covent Garden when we went there as a family a few months later. Perhaps the Trafford Centre branch was just having an off-day

I love Café Rouge here in the Trafford Centre, the staff are very friendly and it’s a very comfortable place to relax. The prices are very competitive and they have a large selection of hot and cold snacks as well as a good range of meals to choose from. There are steaks, fish dishes and everything in between. Drinks are well priced too, there plenty of lagers, beers and wines to choose from. After a hard days shopping it is nice to come here to take the weight off your feet and do a spot of people watching.

Very pleasant bistro located in the Trafford centre(next door to Pizza Express and Giraffe). The menu is a la carte French dining and this is reflected in the prices(which average around towards £10−15 per dish). I ordered the seafood casserole, followed by Tarte Tatin and enjoyed both. The food is nice and light and you’ll come away from the place moving like a welterweight not a bloated pig. The layout is very Parisian café, to the extent of providing street lamps and hanging linen outside the windows. Very kitsch. Be advised this place can get busy and service suffers as a result.

Café Rouge is very clearly a chain restaurantdon’t expect a different experience if you go to more than one of them. But, I think Café Rouge is aware of this and instead concentrates on maintaining a level of consistency throughout its restaurants. For this reason I have found that you will never have a bad meal at Café Rouge. The minute steak is really tasty, as are the frites. It is on the pricey sidethe only reason I have been so much is that my girlfriend knew a manager there and we used to get really generous discounts! Will I go so often now said friend no longer works there? The jury is out.

Café Rouge is a chain if restaurants dotted around Manchester; there is one on Deansgate, on on the side of Printworks, one on Salford Quays and this particular branch at The Trafford Centre. It is a very stylist restaurant; inside it looks like a French Bistro, with steak baguettes and stuffed chicken dishes. For all the style, Café Rouge is not cheap, and of all the places you can eat, I feel it is not particularly memorable. Of the three times I have visited Rouge, service on the slow side so for that reason, I would give it a 3.

I love Café Rouge, it’s romantic, affordable with great food and wine… the best place to eat at the Trafford Centre by far… after an exhausting night shopping what more perfect a way to finish than with a good glass of red wine and a sharing platter for two with olives, pâté, bread etc.
