It was time to take a break from expensive omega watch shopping: p giving our choice I recommended here. I have tried a couple of restaurants from this chain before, but had not tried this one… settling down we had a lovely informative waitress to show us what was what. For just over a tenner you could choose 3 tapas plates from a specific menu. I chose not to: p While sipping on fruity sangria I chose the potato’s braves, chorizo, goats cheese croquettes, octopus with cheese dapinois potatoes, some fish fillet followed by cheesy garlic bread and balsamic vinegar to share. The food arrived promptly. and if I’m being honest we should not have doubled up on the potatos and chorizo. These portions were surprisingly large!.Everything was cooked well apart from the hake which was unpleasantly fishy. Overall for a chain it was good service, atmosphere and food. La Tasca is one of the few chains I like.

Went here the other day and was disappointed with the experience. In the past I’ve found La Tasca to be a good place to go both service and food wise. I now feel that they are struggling however as the food was average and the service was pretty poor. Two of the staff members were really disinterested and quite rude, writing down the order and trying to take the menu away before we had finished. The restaurant was not busy so there was no excuse for this. A couple of the staff members were helpful and this was appreciated and not unnoticed however there is no excuse for rudeness. The food was average and some of it cold. I won’t be re visiting in a hurry.

Very pleased with my visit tonight. The staff provided excellent service and were very friendly. The food was also exceptional with good sized bowls to share and enjoy. The paella was top draw and a portion for two was plenty for 3+. My only issue was the price in total and the portions for the fresh langoustine were a little small for the price. You only got 4. Overall though a good place to easy some excellent tapas and a very nice environment along with quality service, highly recommend this place!

La Tasca’s at the Trafford Centre is a perfect place to stop and have tapas with friends. 4 dishes each is perfectly enough to fill your belly. This place has outside seating aswell, perfect for people watching while you tuck into some lovely dishes. This place is on Tastecard so buy 1 dish get one free. We bought 8 tapas so only paid for 4 which is a nice little saving. Inside seating is more dark and relaxing. Just the ticket for those date nights.

Honestly? These guys had good — nay, great — table service, but kinda abysmal food. Would umm and ahh re 2⁄3 rating, but judging from portion sizes, this’s probably one of the more expensive restaurants(oh you devious Tapas restaurants) amongst the dozens within the Trafford Centre. This was the *worst* — worst! — Chorizo I’ve ever had(and it’s bad when a lad who lived in Barcelona for 9 month agreed…) and the Sangria a tad underwhelming. My party ordered three Tapas dishes each, but can’t offer you a single(super)redeeming dish from what I saw to take you here.

While in the Trafford Centre, I felt hungry and called in La Tasca because it was the first place I saw and I knew they did Gluten Free, items are labelled GF on the menu which are suitable. When I was walking to my table, the waitress did not seem overly chatty or friendly and I would of expected some conversation as she put us at the back of the restaurant. I ordered a Grapestiser with Gluten Free Bread and Oil and a Chicken and Chorizo Paella, I asked for my bread straight away but it did take around 20 minutes, arriving minutes before my Paella I wasn’t happy about this, I expected to wait for my Paella but not the bread however the bread did taste good gluten free and I liked how it came with Oil, which is popular in Spain. I didn’t expect it to be as good but with La Tasca being branded as an Authentic Spannish Resturant and Tapas bar and making it from fresh, I would of defiantly wanted better quality. 15 minutes into placing my order, I was told that the drink I ordered was not available, I was quite annoyed as I had to wait a long time for my drink only for it not to be available. The bread was a reasonable portion as the starter/side it was branded as with the oil and it did taste homemade. The Paella had a very strong tomato taste to it, this made it loose the authentic spannish taste, comparing this to the one I had made in Madrid it wasn’t great especially being advertised as being fresh, the Chorizo pieces were very small and not great at all, This Paella was around 10 pounds which was reasonable value but I would of happily paid more if they did improve the quallity and remove some of the tomato taste. If the tomato taste wasn’t enough, they had put a large piece of Tomato in my Paella! Some other members of the staff did appear to be nice, a man lit a candle on my table as I complained about it being very dark. The seats were not comfortable, so bad infact I was moving about the chairs and couldn’t find a satisfactory one to sit on. La Tasca doesn’t seem to have improved much from the 2 star reviews in 2010 and 2011 and I have to agree that 2 stars is very fair. They is lots of food competition in the Trafford Centre, even for Gluten Free but this isn’t the place to go!

Some of my all time favourite types of meal are those where everyone can try a little of everything they fancy. Tapas really ticks that box. You can have a few bites of something you’ve never heard of without committing to it as a single course. Personally, I’ve not been disappointed by any dish I’ve eaten in tapas restaurants so far, be it seafood, meat or veggie-based. Though they’re a restaurant chain, this doesn’t mean you’ll get sub-standard or fast-food-tapas. We weren’t majorly hungry as we’d had popcorn in the cinema an hour earlier, so chose six dishes to share between the two of us. The menu for tapas is split into ‘From the sea’, ‘From the field’, ‘From the vegetable garden’ and ‘From the salad garden’. We chose Langostinos Andalucía(salt-baked tiger prawns), Albóndigas Madrid(pork and beef meatballs), Pollo con Crema Castilla(chicken thighs with a creamy spinach and mustard sauce), Paella del Día Valencia, Tortilla Española(Spanish omelette) and Vegetable Gratin Picos de Europa(potato gratin, with baby spinach and blue cheese). Every dish was well presented and really delicious — just the right amount of food too. We had to ask for a finger bowl of water and lemon to wash our fingers after taking the shells off the tiger prawns, I would have thought this should have been brought out along with the dish itself, but that’s the only minor grumble. It’s a lovely restaurant, clean, airy and full of Spanish paraphernalia. The staff were very friendly and helpful, it was a really good experience. Tip: they also offer paellas and cocido(Spanish stew) for main courses.

This behemoth branch of this ever popular chain(or at least I am guessing it’s popular because they’re everywhere and nearly always packed) was a site to be reckoned with– and for all the wrong reasons. Now I know why this was the first time I’ve been to La Tasca, and I won’t be rushing back anytime soon. I, like the other reviewers, was disappointed in the quality of the food. I think my mistake was that I was expecting restaurant and instead got fast good. But also, if you’ve ever had authentic Spanish food, this won’t hold a candle. Everything was either too oily(prawns sauteed in chile and oil– umm, swimming in a vat of oil more like it), too soggy(patatas bravas were mushy as though they’d been reheated in a microwave) or tasted like it had freezer burn. Yuck. Strike three for Trafford Centre food– next time we’ll eat BEFORE we get there.

Went to La Tasca yesterday as dh and I thought it’d be a nice treat to go to a proper restaurant(vs fast food) as didn’t have the kids. Not sure if I’d bother again. Considered the 5 tapas for £12 lunch menu, but thought it may not be enough, so used a 2 for 1 voucher we had — bought 6 between us, and it didn’t quite fill us up as the portion sizes are quite small. Food was just about edible, but no intense flavours or particuarly recommended food, which is rather disappointing. It was busy(half term for some schools) and the seating was so close that when i sat back in my chair, my hair kept getting caught in the chair of the person behind me — constant apologies does not make for a relaxing or romantic meal. Service was slow — kept having to try and grab waiters attention — and the only positive thing was that the toilets were clean and tidy(which I’d expect anyway). Would I go again? Not anytime soon!

La Tasca is pretty generic; they have them up and down the country. The one in the Trafford Centre is pretty good though, live music add a bit of atmosphere. The food is tasty if overly garlicky! But I like it. Sadly only even been the once, there are just so many to choose from that La Tasca always falls down the line.

Yep, absolutely stop on Emma-Louise, the quote I particularly thought really impressively capture the character of La Tasca was ‘I promise you. La Tasca is a disgrace’. Nail. Hammer. Head. Any fan of Tapas and traditional Spanish food, will be more than slightly aggrieved by any experience they have at La Tasca. I’m so qualified to make these generalizations because I’ve actually been to three separate La Tasca restaurants. I know, its madness, and I would never go out of choice after the first time, but people I know always seem to have parties there. The food is incredibly greasy, and soggy. That’s about it really. Its greasy and soggy. If that isn’t enough to put you off then you’re not worth talking to, so I’m not talking to you, so there! Chicken Wings particularly stood out as greasy, and the chorizo really stood out above the rest because it was edible. I’m only giving you this specific advice in case you are forced to go there for some reason. If you are a free agent, just don’t do it to yourself. Only just saved from the 1 star review by its relatively cheap prices and crisp beers.

Moving appropriately from mass produced junk food to more. And that is not harsh, I promise you. La Tasca is a disgrace. Years ago when the brunette and I got our student loans through, we wanted to treat ourselves all Sex and the City-like to a proper posh lunch in the Trafford Centre. So we felt our way into La Tasca, not yet understanding the concept of tapas or why they keep the lights so dim it’s like that show, Dating in the Dark. I swear I grabbed her nose by accident several times. And we needn’t have worried about our tapas virginity, because intact it remained. Tapas this ain’t. That’s why they keep it so dark in here, it’s so you can’t see the microwaveable frittata you’re eating. Hey, if I want one of those, I’ll go to Marks and Spencers and get my three for £5 deli offer thank you very much. And it’d taste a damn sight better than that flaccid La Tasca omelette. Disgraceful. Spanish food just doesn’t sit well within the chain format, I’m sorry. Just like Italian. It’s too romantic, too passionate, too rustic to be receiving instructions from head office about how homogenised it should be and how the staff should ask you questions exactly three minutes into eating it. Even Strada, which I really like, tastes a bit too polished to be proper Italian. Tapas is certainly something you shouldn’t mess with. If you’re in the Trafford Centre, there are countless other far better options with which to fill a gap.

Found this by far the poorest of the chain that I have tried. Food was so precooked and rewarmed I thought it was last years. Staff lazy and unattentive. Will not come here again

Great resaurant. With all the other resaurants in the Trafford Centre which is an amazing place. Always busy with a good atmosphere. Service is excellant. They don’t do tapas for a tenner which is a pity but there are usually offerring 50% off food which makes the already good value into excellent value. Highly recommended.

We love going to La Tasca in general and the Trafford Centre branch is our favorite. There is a fantastic atmosphere. I love sitting and watching the world go by. There is no pressure to eat and go. I love the whole concept of tapas and really enjoy the food on offer here. The décor is really good. I love the glow the lighting casts and always feel relaxed in here. Another thing in La Tascas favour is that they cater for vegetarians(I know that most SAY they do veg chili anyone?) but it is nice to have a selection of things my husband can choose from. Also there is no pressure to order a particular amount. Sometimes when I am shopping at the Trafford Centre I occasionally pop in for a snack or even just a coffee. I know that La Tasca does divide people its love it or hate it, but for us both well we are very much in the love it camp. Writing this has made me wish I was there now!

One of my favorite restaurant in Manchester is La Tasca, it is a traditions Spanish taps restaurant that really offers high quality food. I last went here 2 weeks ago when I was hopping at the Trafford centre. If you go on their website and join their mailing list at the moment then you get £5 off your next meal, that’s a pretty decent offer if you ask me. I don’t think the La Tascs’s in the Trafford centre has been open for very long, the bulging has been designed to look dated and typical of a Spanish restaurant. Its pretty impressive and along site all the other restaurants it actually looks like you are walking down a street in Spain. The staff and great and seat you straight away. This is a restaurant that everyone loves and I keep going back again and again. I’m glad its a chin because if I ever move away at least I can still go
