Gamerbase

For those who have yet to stumble across this Gem in the underground lair at HMV, and you happen to be Big on gaming. Then I have no idea how you haven’t yet discovered this place.
For people who don’t know, Gamerbase is a small venue similar to that of Kyoto Lounge, that allows members of the public to pick a game, and play to their hearts content on a PC or Xbox (For a small given fee). The staff are friendly, and very happy to argue with you about the best game/​machine if you don’t match their opinions. Sadly however, the venue doesn’t supply any alcoholic drinks nor any food products. But if you’re willing to get up and visit the closes food/​coffee shop then they will happily turn a blind eye.
The comfortable vibe this place gives off is tremendous, with large sofas for groups, and single screen desktops/​Xboxes for small groups or just yourself. They also offer an «18 year old» only area, which can only lead to one thing… Children gamers must be there. Yep, that’s right. Gamerbase is open for any ages, and you can play games that match or are below your age on your Gamerbase account (Which you create in store). This to me, is the only downfall of Gamerbase, I greatly dislike hearing screaming/​yelling children around me when I’m trying to play. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a hardcore gamer when I’m out, but when I hear under 15s screaming across the room… it ruins my moment.
However, if you’re able to look past that then this is the perfect backup if you can’t reach Kyoto Lounge. So next time you’re in HMV on Market street, pop down stairs and see what the whole fuss is about.
On an extra note, they do own their own little stage an hall situated on the opposite side Gamerbase are situated. It’s only open during tournaments, but the door near the game section leads to an open hall, filled with screens and a small stage. Last time I was there, the Pokemon tournament was on (Yes! I’m a nerd. No! I did not participate) but it was fun to spectate.

This an excellent place situated on Market street inside the basement of HMV.
As they put it Gamerbase offers a cutting edge First Class Gaming Experience on some of the most advanced gaming machines available today.
They have about 50 computers and about 10 X Boxes connected to large screens for the best in game play.
They have a vast library of games to choose from which u can play with others or on ur own.
For the fussy ones u can even take in ur own mouse and keyboard although everything is provided.
The prices are £3 for 1 hour, £10 for 4 hours or £20 for 9 hours or £15 all day.
You can get extra gaming time if u recommend ur friend to join and they mention ur name Hi my name is FALCON U !!
They hold tournaments on occasions certaily nice place to meet some new friends.
They also have a 18 years old only gaming area!!!
All in all very fast internet speed with no lag and I would reccomend to any gaming enthusiast!!!
