Well now, I’m perfectly happy to admit that this is not the highest quality form of gambling, but I refute the suggestion that Piccadilly Amusements is just a pit of vacuous depressing souls feeding their mindless habits.
I appreciate that the glamour and class of Casino Royale are not applicable here, but for me this little arcade is a perfectly suitable place to waste five minutes or so, and possibly win yourself a couple of quid.
Also, because of its self-​contained atmosphere constructed by neon lights, the noises of the fruit machines and the questionable dim lighting, it provides an escape from the horrors of Manchester Piccadilly at peak shopping time! Result.

I have always come across this place as a highly lit up place and mostly packed with kids.
It’s lit up like an amusement park in the twilight wanting to attract a massive crowd but never really successful! It’s obviously poorly managed.
The slot machines and gambling with coins definitely a good attraction to little children who love the hope of wining something in the end! If they market themselves well and probably appear to be a little normal place, it would improve their crowd in take and it would earn an extra star!

If the glaring neon lighting didn’t deter you, simply peering inside will. It’s packed to the gills with gambling machines and bandits, with vacuous, catatonic people mindlessly pumping coin after coin into them, their glazed eyes hiding the self-​loathing that churns within their shriveled hearts. I feel sad just thinking about it.

Located opposite Piccadilly Gardens and near the main bus station this place is full of your typically amusements and ways to spend those little bits of change burning a hole in your pocket!
It is pretty large inside and clean with friendly staff ready to assist you. There is plenty on offer whatever your favourite style of amusement. They also have various offers on certain machines which are a nice bonus.
Its a nice place to kill time if you’re waiting for a bus or hanging around the centre for another reason, and although you might get the occasional win I wouldn’t make too much of a habit of going in here or you’ll end up poor!

I’m a total sucker for flashing lights and there is plenty in this place. Right across from my bus stop I find myself popping in here often when waiting for the bus. Trouble is there is so many machines to play on I find it hard to drag myself away! The staff are kind and helpfull but most of them dont have very good english a smile all the same. Once when I was pregnant and needed the loo (as you do quite often) their toilet was out of order and so they let me use the staff toilet (i thought that was very nice of them).
