Nancy’s Bordello

I was really impressed by this very cool bar near Northumbria University. Mary and I were visiting her sister in Newcastle for the weekend, and Nancy’s was the first place recommended. And what a recommendation it was. We visited for both food and cocktails, and both visits were great. The place is insanely popular, especially at weekends, so reserve as far in advance as possible!
The food menu is fairly large– burgers, wraps, pizzas, roasts. And prices on the food are excellent as well, particularly the even lower student prices! Cocktails are 3.95 for students, which is a bargain for sure! Of course, this means I had quite a few mojitos…
There is often a guitarist playing music at Nancy’s, but even when there isn’t, the playlist on the speakers is bouncy and hip. I like it a lot. Highly recommended.

Been only once and it was really good! Tucked away this places during certain months have lots of students.
When I went it was busy. My friends and I bought a bottle of vodka and it was very reasonably priced.
The décor is lovely. Inside the bar looks like the outside with trees and cool furniture.
Staff are good conversations!

Nancy’s bordello is a quirky bar tucked away amidst the Northumbria university student accommodation-​one of Newcastle’s hidden gems! Similar to Mr Lynch in that it has a great atmosphere and the décor is a mish mash of colours where vintage meets modern!
Although it does attract the students… if you’re not don’t let this put you off as it can be nice and quiet during the week. The food is fantastic and excellent value for money. They also have daily happy hours on drinks as well as 2 cocktails for £5 on a Monday night! The staff aren’t always the quickest or the friendliest but can’t fault the drinks.
I’ve been to the quiz a couple of times which is on a Tuesday and Thursday night. Really good fun… the most random questions I’ve ever come across mind! we had a whole round related to cats and dogs so an example question was ‘which breed of dogs have black tongues?’ The only frustrating thing is that the quiz master doesn’t read out the answers which is normally the fun part of the quiz when you laugh at your own inaccuracies! Perhaps the only reason why Nancy’s gets a 4 instead of a 5!
If you’re ever towards Manors direction this bar is worth a visit!

Lovely quirky pub with loads of atmosphere. Quieter in the holidays. Went here from a recommendation & was not disappointed. Great place to hang out & very chilled. It’s part of my route now when I’m in town! Take 5 stars as I can’t find anything wrong with it!

as part of the mr. Lynches chain, it shares a similar quirky, chilled out, studenty feel. although the drinks prices don’t really reflect this, as its quite pricey. however, the foods great and so is the atmosphere. 2 thumbs up for me

Nancy’s Bordello is a gem of Newcastle, hidden away not far from the Quayside and local universities. The bar caters to all, serving delicious food until 9pm alongside a variety of cocktails, including classics, such as Mojitos, and something for the more adventurous, a Toblerone for example. The venue is a great place to impress friends with its classy décor and is host to a variety of events such as Salsa Club on a Thursday and Greek night on a Monday.

Lush place in great location away from the quay side crowds. Great value for money food and cocktails with student discounts available. Very stylish place just like Mr. Lynch and
Not sure why world music as it just seems to be very British tasty music?!
Relaxed and comfy atmosphere even if the staff is a bit moody and shy.
Also note that even it says everywhere they are open till 2 am they did close at 10ish on Sunday and they only served food till 8pm not 9pm. I guess better call up if you want to make sure.

I have been to Nancy’s Bordello twice now and I reccomend it to anyone looking for a nice relaxed evening out. The drinks are reasonably priced and you can get a generous plate of nachos with melted cheese, spicy vegetables and chilli or spicy chicken for just £4.
Upstairs there is another bar, a terrace and pool tables. They are the only world music bar in Newcastle and also play a selection of quality indie songs from the past ten years. The atmosphere is great, the staff are very friendly and free membership includes a birthday card.

Nancys Bordello is a top bar next to the new Northumbria University buildings. If you are after a cool laid back atmosphere and excellent food and drink then I would highly recommend it to you. As the name suggests, the bar has what I can only describe as a boudoir feel to it. You really have to see it yourself to understand what I mean as the décor sort of goes so far over the top that it comes back out the otherside and just looks right somehow.
The food here is fantastic and ranges from sandwiches to more substantial meals. Prices are good, especially considering the quality of the food.
