I go to pret a manger quite regular I usually go on Saturdays. Its always a good sign its always very busy even at less busy times. The food is fanastic very tasty its making my hungry typing about it! The staff are always very helpful and friendly! Prices are a little steep but no worse than the likes of Costa and Café nero or infact any coffee shop!

I am in Newcastle most Saturday mornings and the Northumberland Street Pret is my current coffee bar of choice for breakfast. In a few words, it just has a great atmosphere to the place. The staff are always friendly, polite and helpful to the customers and it’s always a good sign when you notice that plenty of the other customers are regulars too, and are greeted as such by the staff. Like all Pret’s the food is made on or close to the premises and it always tasty and fresh. Great to see a good range of meat-free options. At 99p for a mug of filter coffee and with a stamp-card scheme so you get a free cup for every 8 you buy, it’s good value too. I was so impressed I recently messaged the company to let them know what a good job the team were doing, so it’s great to be able to spread the word on here too.

I had to write a review of this Pret-a-Manger in Newcastle as my first review. I have no idea if the coffee is so good in all of their outlets, but by far the best Cappuccino I’ve tasted is from here. It’s not cheap at £1.99(or £1.94) after the VAT reduction, but it’s well worth every penny. First off, they use really good coffee. I often feel robbed when buying coffee from café’s in town because it tends towards milky water. Not this coffee, it’s rich, full of flavour and does the trick to wake me up before work. The way they foam the milk is also top notch, making it thick and creamy. I usually take sugar in my coffee but it seems a shame to spoil this coffee with sugar. The food is also superb. I recommend the Bacon and Cheese Croissant. It’s absolutely divine, although again, at £1.89, it’s not cheap! The service in this particular store is excellent. I tend to be in there around 8am before work, and although they have queues at this time, it takes less than five minutes to get my coffee. The staff are always very polite and friendly, they stock daily newspapers and they even have tables outside if you want to have a smoke with your coffee. All in all, five star coffee shop.
