Poor quality service and rude staff unfortunately let this café down. Ideally situated within the popular and loved Grainger Market in Newcastle I visited here yesterday for coffee and cake with a friend. We sat outside in the café where you can watch passers by and soak in the atmosphere. The café also do takeaway if you are in a rush and want to enjoy your homemade food in the comfort of your home. There are some very good deals on the menu like coffee and cake for £2.10 so you cannot fault the price. Unfortunately we were interrupted on many occasions with staff insisting that we pay immediately. We had already explained to a different waitress that we were going to order more drinks so would like to pay at the end. This apparently is not an option as someone rudely put their open hand out right in front of my face! I was disgusted at the lack of smiles on their faces or common decency to leave us alone to enjoy our drinks. I ordered a latte which was average and a slice of toffee cake. To be fair it is the nice slice of cake that has awarded this café 2 stars instead of 1. I won’t be coming back unless I’m in a rush!
