Evans is a ladieswear store. It offers plus size clothing, accessories and wide shoes. It is one of few shops to offer this range of sizes, which is its unique selling point. I have very wide feet so often go here for shoes, although sometimes they are even too wide for my great big slaps of meat: S They are part of the Arcadia group(which includes Topshop, Burtons, Dorothy Perkins, Principles, etc) and their pricing is similar to those. They are not the cheapest shop around but they sell nice quality items and they offer a standard 10% student discount if you produce a valid NUS card at the checkout, which is great as every penny counts! Their sales are good — they sometimes reduce all their jewellry to £1 per item and I often come away with several pretty necklaces and rings. Granted they are costume jewellry so don’t fare well and sometimes turn your neck green, but for £1 each you can’t complain even if you only get a couple of wears out of them! The staff are also very friendly — I have often had them check local stores to see if they have had my size in.

Part of the Arcadia group, this store selling clothing for fuller figured women from size 16 upwards has an excellent range of clothing to suit larger women. It is quite a large branch of the store and has a wide range of all kinds of clothing. It also sells footwear, some of which comes in wider fittings, and is especially good for wide calf boots. There are fitting rooms, which are clean and tidy and staff are pleasant and friendly. All in all, it has a pleasant shopping experience. It is also conveniently located at the entrance to Monument Mall, right in the heart of the city centre, close to public transport links and near local car parking.
