The first time I went to Zizzi was in Edinburgh. It’s a restaurant with great food and great service. I love the risotto with prawn, the pizza but not the hot chocolate. That’s why I kept looking for Zizzi wherever I go. You can be disappointed. I’m glad we have it in Newcastle. I particularly enjoy the service Boc the waiters and waitress are very helpful and friendly. It’s now a place we go regularly!

As far as chains go Zizzi is one of my favourites and there’s usually always an offer to be had if you subscribe to their mailing list! It is a lovely restaurant inside with a fantastic upstairs mezzanine and open plan kitchen and the outdoor seating along Grey Street makes for a ideal setting on a sunny day in Newcastle. The menu has a lot to offer and for those of you looking to dine out but not consume a day’s calories in one sitting, they have a great selection of lighter options all under 600 calories. It just so happens that one of these is my favourites — the Pollo Prosciutto! The chicken is always cooked to perfection and the white wine sauce really complements the meat. I also really like the Arancini starter. The desserts are your usual Italian variety but in my opinion nothing spectacular. That said I am a bit of a dessert snob and have tried and tested many places for comparison! The staff are always really friendly and helpful so you really cannot fault the service. I tend to come here for my birthday celebrations as it caters for everyone and are guaranteed a lovely meal. The restaurant can on occasion get quite noisy but it also gives it a warm and lively buzz so all in all I would recommend this to anyone!

Really lovely, quick service from the staff at this restaurant. Having turned up with no reservation on the day of the Great North Run, they were still quick to seat and serve us, chat about our vegetarian guests options and laugh along with us in our tired state(having been up since 5am) The food was delicious. The garlic bread with mozzarella and caramelized onion was great, as was the cheese fondue dipping sauce. We all opted for pastas and antipasti For main, accompanied by a bottle of prosecco. Everything was really tasty, and came in very large portions. I had the crab linguine and they accommodated my request for goats cheese on the side. We stayed for a few hours, and then found a voucher code to take 30% off the main courses which was handy. I’ve never bothered to eat in a Zizzi restaurant before as often avoid Italian places thinking I can make pasta myself, but this was well worth the visit.

Kudos to this place for offering a selection of tempting sounding desserts. I felt like I’d won the golden ticket when I was presented with an elegant sliver of dark chocolate tart, with a crisp pastry and rich ganache filling. This sugary triangle was flanked by a squishy dollop of salted caramel sauce and a blob of ice-cream that tasted like Werther’s Originals.

I’ve been here twice. The food is delicious! Not that much fat is added. The waiters are friendly all the time, they really care for you. The food is served fast, although one time, the pizza already cooled down a bit :(but all in all: awesome!

Visited last weekend — very impressed! Far better than Pizza Express & their like. We tried pizza and pasta, the seafood pizzas were particularly good. House wine drinkable too! Restaurant was huge and clean. Waiting staff very friendly & helpful. Good location for the Railway Station, Keyside, Sage etc.

I have always enjoyed having a meal at Zizzi. It has to have the best spicy calazone in town. If for nothing else go and have a taste, that is if you like it Hot! The prices are reasonable and waiting staff are excellent too.

It’s a chain pizza place. You get just what you’d expect. Service is slow when busy, but good enough other times.

Wonderful restaurant with an extensive menu. You can watch your food being cooked before you by the talented team of chefs and the dining space is huge, which is just as well as the place is often packed to the rafters. The menu consists of a great range of pizzas and pasts which are reasonably priced for the quality that you receive.

This resturant is on dean street on your way down towards the quay side. I went with a groop of about 15 friends, we were told its was lovely. Inside is done up well and is very clean. The service is quick and friendly but i was disapointed with the food. My pasta was cold and my friends seafood pasta has about 3 small prawns and 2 mucels and not much else. I dont think it has value for money and i have been to much better Italians.

I have never ever had a disapointing experience when eating here. I’m only going to write a few words on this because just thinking about it makes me want to get in a taxi a.s.a.p. so I can have the gorgeous cheese and tomato garlic bread for starters, the best pasta dish in the world and not forgetting tiramisu for dessert. The talented chefs dish out generously, making your stomach unable to cry out for more. The atmosphere is so chilled and the staff are very helpful. An amazing restaurant in a good central location. The prices are reasonable for such quality food.
