There was a warm natural fire keeping the bar area warm. The back room has a tv and couches. And then there’s a larger area with table and a front patio. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The owner is welcoming. And the beer selection is great. I came at a time when the cook had left, but the menu looks great too.

Only stopped for a pint, but seems a traditional pub supplying a decent selection of beers. Only gave 4 stars as I can’t comment on the food but the atmosphere was welcoming.

This pub is only 15 minutes away from Brighton and in my opinion, well worth the drive. It overlooks the River Ouse and even on a cloudy day, you can’t help being charmed by the surroundings.
Its such a friendly place. The owners have been there since 2001 and have constantly made improvements to the place like expanding the kitchen and refurbishing the interior completely.
The food menu is excellent and very varied with wood pigeon salad and venison to choose from but for me, being this close to the sea, I’d go for some fish. The seabass is out of this world!

How lovely, nice to see a pub keep traditions. My family an myself visited the pub on Xmas eve. and wow, free spuds, good drink, and good welcoming feeling in the pub. Its just lovely. You must go and try the place as words cannot describe it. Has that oldie world feel, its small, but what else do you need

This is a nice place to go for a meal, food good, staff helpful, clean and traditional gastropub style place. Worth a visit especially nice for a lunchtime meal. If anything, its location lets it down, and could be slightly more modernised, but still inkeeping with traditional style.

A small, traditional pub/​restaurant, serving delicious food in a relaxed environment. The place can get quite cold in winter so ensure you wear plenty, but in summer offers a relaxing place to dine with friends.
