How can a pub that dates back so far feel just a little bit false? Thankfully they have a good range of real ales. apparently the builders of the adjacent Abbey had their dinners here :) .I can see bits of medieval here but the obviously false wood bar really ruins it as do the false ceiling timbers. thankfully the exterior is more pleasing to the eye.

During a long weekend down south, I went for a walk and I’ve noticed Adam and Eve. Well not Adam and Eve in person, but for sure a place that could be called paradise! The pub is so beautiful from the outside that it is breath taking. It is a very old pub, one of the oldest alehouse in the area if I remember correctly. The whole place was surrounded with flowers. We sat inside for food, that it was a bit darker. The whole place is old, and you can see that everywhere you turn your eyes on. It’s like you travel in time when you enter this place. Food was good, pub food. Do not remember if it was very expensive or not. All in all, I will defo go again when the chance will be given :)

So awesome — this pub has been in existence since the 13th century. Holy crap! Inside it’s small, dark, & cramped, just like your typical old English pub. A relatively good variety of beers on tap, and a surprisingly varied food menu. The salmon with chili-lime dipping sauce is excellent, and the Ploughman’s Platter is great too(I recommend Stilton!). Prices are worth it on their own, but even more so considering the history here! Bathrooms are kinda icky but I’ll let that one slide this time.: D Very courteous service and prompt attention from the wait staff.

The first place that I wanted to be in Norwich is Adam & Eve. It’s the oldest alehouse in Norwich, and is in the listings of historic public houses. Outside it looks like a cute cottage house. Inside is a bit dark and tight. The weather was so nice *yes! ma’am. let there be sunlight!* We had to dine outside. The tiny little garden, surrounded with flowers. On our wooden table and bench we dine and drink. We had farmhouse pâté and I ordered the daily chicken special. Such a lovely place to bring a friend. It’s all what I expected it to be.

This pub is a real find and so quaint. It dates back to 1249. There is a ghost walk that operated from outside the pub also which is brilliant. The food and hospitality is brilliant the prices are average pub prices. Food is scampi, pâté, soups etc nothing ala carte jsut hearty warm grub. The owners are most friendly and the selection of real ales is very good.
