I realise this is under new management, although not too sure how long ago. Service was sporadic, as we waited to be even asked for our initial drinks order. Drinks arrived and I stated we were ready to order, but only the order for the starter was taken. Starter(Oasis sharing dish for 2) was reasonable, if not a little bland. I then had to prompt for our main dish order to be taken. Obviously there was a wait of some half an hour or so until the main courses arrived, most of that time our dirty starter dishes remained on our table! Again, I hD to ask for someone to clear the table. Main dishes were reasonably tasty, and although we both had items from their ‘Signature Dish’ range, I felt the quality of the meet was poor. Sadly, we won’t be returning in a hurry.

Away from downtown Norwich, Oasis is along it’s own little«curry row» of Indian restaurants on Queens Road. Apparently a converted gymnasium, the setting is quite comfortable and open with a very high ceiling and none of the cramped space that many other restaurants seem to suffer through. From the front, very clean and welcoming. From the back… well, don’t go around to the back. Excellent friendly service, delicious food. My tandoori mixed grill was moist and spicy. My colleague said that his curry was terrific. Over the bar, a large TV is mounted and was playing rather distracting Bollywood music videos. Reasonable prices, I would return.

The Oasis, is in my opinion one of the best curry houses in Norwich. It must be good beacause i came across an Indian fella who was looking for it to eat there! Nice friendly atmosphere, and staff the food is always good(try the sag paneerhmmmm), not greasy and no bad stomach the morning after. You used to be able to go upsatirs and stoke up a hubbly, but alas since the smoking ban this is another pleasure that has gone in the ashtry!
