Summit Inn

Ahh The Summit. It’s been a familiar friend in my life for years, always there for me when I’m in need of a good pub quiz, a cheap meal, a catch up with my girlfriends OR a hangover cure.
Today it was a catch up with the girls and, of course, a cheap (and cheerful) meal.
We arrived at 1ish, it was quiet and we easily grabbed a table in the corner. It’s an order at the bar venue so we made our decisions and headed up. The staff were friendly, one being an old friend (nice surprise) and the food was super cheap! For two meals and two drinks it was just £20!
The food (6 meals and a side) arrived quickly. I opted for the mixed meat hanger which came with salad, chips, sweet chilli sauce and 4 half wraps to create your own (fajita style) wraps. The meats included gammon, lamb, and chicken. The meats were surprisingly flavoursome and the chunks were large and thoroughly charred — perfect for a grilled hanger. Sure it wasn’t Michelin star but I really enjoyed the meat and would definitely choose this dish again!
The chips sadly weren’t great — soggy and left standing a bit too long and the salad was also soggy because of the tomatoes and most definitely not fresh.
We had a nice afternoon as always and The Summit continues to do what it does best — be a friendly cheap local for locals to enjoy :)

I was here today for lunch having been a few times before I came here mainly to see how it was doing under new management
I also came to see if improvements had been made as to regard s the disabled issue cause the main entrance is full of steps
Anyway I’m pleased to say that they now have a disabled entrance and toilet, having got that out of the way ‚
I went to get a table you have to give table number for your order ‚
On the table was a menu it was sticky ‚
But that’s another matter the thing that surprised me was what was on the menu kangaroo burgers ostrich and Buffalo ‚
Can you imagine my face lol
I didn’t order that, cripes I am not a veggie but I draw the line on certain meats
What I did get was OK see my photos but I will say one thing about it
It needs a good cleaning it was sticky on tables and things felt greasy over all it gets 7 /​10,

Only been in once when the World Cup was on. Had a great day, the atmosphere was really good and met quite a few nice people.
Beer was spot on, didn’t try any food of the menu but I’ve heard it’s decent.

This is my favourite place for a decent bite the staff are always friendly and helpful we just had 2 porky pigs and 2 large mixed grills (group of 4) and I have to say none of us had absolutely no complaints whatsoever all of the food was piping hot when it arrived and cooked to perfection (congrats to the chef) I ordered the steaks medium/​well and that’s exactly what we got so many other restaurants fail on this simple task I would definitely say that this restaurant is certainly worth a try believe me you will not be disappointed.
