Ok for coffee and a cake but food is over priced and very poor. Shame really as most people rave about it. We ordered pasta and a burger. Each meal was greatly disappointing being small servings, over cooked and lacking flavour. Now I only go for coffee when meeting a friend.

Really Really nice Restaurant. I have visited this place a couple of times and really enjoyed myself. The place is hidden away in Otley but well worth finding. From the minute you walk in the place has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. Its a great place for a special occasion!

Just discovered this place, I stay 2 nights most weeks at the Chevin Country Park Hotel(see my reviews), and have done for a few years. The food there is excellent but sometimes I look for alternatives for a change. Its not always satisfactory eating alone, sometimes everything goes too slow(rather perversely because I also eat quite quickly). Anyway ‘Buon Apps’ it was this evening, and what a delight. Nice warm welcome from the proprietors(Alessandro and Elena, who I later discovered lived near my childhood home town of Keighley, 12 miles away). I began with Fish Goujons, deliciously crisp, as was the dipping sauce provided. I did manage to squirt the generous chunk of lemon all over the place however. My only criticism was the inordinately large quantity of leaves on the plate, definite overkill. For main I had strips of fillet beef(Striccate), beautifully tender, again served with rather a lot of leaves, and some roast potatoes very enjoyable. Maybe a bit too much pepper, but thats just my personal taste. The pace of the service was quite quick, absolutely fine as I was dining alone.(I was in and out in an hour, two courses). I imagine with a group of you it would have been more leisurly. I had a glass of excellent house Montepulciana to accompany the meal. The restaurant had a nice ambience and service was exemplary. I will go back again in a two or three weeks and edit this report as necessary. I was very tempted to have a fish main(Sea Bass) so I hope I might have the opportunity next time. Edit 13÷12÷11 Well it has taken me 9 months to come back again. This time I was in early and was offered am early bird menu at £14.95 for 2 courses and £18.95 for three. Again service was excellent and well paced. As a starter I had a stuffed Portobello Mushroom set on a spicy tomato sauce(a touch too spicy for my personal taste), and for main a breast of chicken butterfly style, laid on a mixture of mediterranean vegetables. Very tasty and well executed. A glass of a house red helped it down. Good value, I will be back again. STill 4 stars

Been to Buon Apps lots of times and it is simply great, definately one of our favs! Love the ambience, Alessandro and Eleanor always look after us really well, they are super tolerant of our small children — who love going! The seafood linguine is the best I’ve ever eaten(including lots of restaurants in mainland Europe), the Melezane is tops too! It’s definatley worth a trip to Otley.

We went one Saturday lunch time, unfortunately very disappointing. Had the set menu which inlcuded a beer(nice beer, Moretti). The Bruschetta was just a couple of pieces of bread with two bowls of bizarre toppings(green veg and white veg which tasted a little school dinner-ish, no tomato) which really didn’t work. The bread was supposed to be toasted but I guess they forgot! We(Daughter and I) were served the Bruschetta(A Starter) on one plate for two people(A third didn’t arrive) I should have asked the waiter that as we had both ordered chicken for the main, would we have had to share that plate as well? The Chicken on a bed of Mashed potato was a tad bland, bacon barely cooked and overall a little cold, although the Marsala sauce was good. It appears they also forgot to mash the potato as well, lumpy doesn’t begin to describe it! The waiter said it was supposed to be crushed although it says mashed on the menu, bit like the toasted Bruschetta, I guess they forgot to tell the Chef the dishes had changed. My wife had a margarita pizza which had a topping of freshly opened tin of tomato, mozzarella and a very strong pesto whch came complete with a soggy base. I am now eating the rest of it for my dinner having put it back in the oven to finish cooking it! I feel a little more imagination for a tomato pizza sauce would have been more apps, sorry apt. To finish with, a Cappuccino described on the website as the best this side of Roma. It may well have been had it been hot enough. As it was someones Birthday so we didn’t make too much of a fuss although they were told about the lumpy mash and bland chicken and bacon. The bill was £150 but the 20% discount was refused because we didn’t spend £20 per head.(small print) They missed a chance, all they needed to say was we will honour the voucher seeing as your meal was not up to scratch, but they didn’t. Others in our party had spaghetti with Aubergine which they said was delicious. I would just like to say that one bad visit to a restaurant doesn’t nescessarily make it bad, I would go again if we lived closer… maybe.

I took my wife to this restaurant for a celebratory birthday dinner and we were delighted by the ambiance, friendly welcome, variety and quality of the fare on offer. I am now looking for an excuse to go again, roll on our summer visitors.

Buon Apps is a gorgous unique restaurant which serves a range of food — mainly italian. They do the best steaks ever! It is open for lunch and evening meals — although you need to book for an evening meal, its usually very busy. Its quite expensive, but worth it.
