I’m a fierce critic of shabby Indian food in Oxford as my reviews will tell but this place is truly a diamond. I have no hesitation in writing that this is the best Indian food in Oxford. Not a particularly attractive place but if you value food quality over flock wall paper I insist you try this restaurant. S Indian thali, iddly and dosa — can’t get these anywhere else in Oxford. For nostagia’s sake I had a masala omlette and I was immediately transported to the early morning train pulling into Lucknow. I look forward to working my way right through their menu.

Been there twice now, and tried there Dosa’s, Idly and Biriyani. Nowhere near the standards of Chennai dosa quality however is still a good dosa and quite tasty. People are a little miserable though. and not the greatest value for money. However not much other choice in Oxford.

This has a shady reputation, and although I haven’t personally braved it myself, I thought I should at least share some friends’ impressions. By all accounts, the service is mediochre and most of the food is sloppy and without much substance. The best choice seems to be the Indian lunch, but even that is quite hit and miss. I’m intrigued to see if everyone shares the same opinion or if there are people out there who like it. It did change management and name relatively recently, so maybe some other people have different experiences?
