One of my all time favourite pubs. It has a lovely and warm atmosphere, the staff are very polite, efficient, and always a joy, they stock my favourite ciders, and their food is always delicious. It’s always the pub I take my friends to when they come down to visit. Would heartily recommend!

Great pub. Famous for its pies and ales, it gets busy with a young crowd from the local area, but a mostly post-university with money to spend type. We arrived too late for dinner, I was surprised to find their kitchen closes at 8pm(what?), so we grabbed a couple of drinks in the big rear garden and had a chat. Really liked it here; makes me want to live in the village and pop in here for the quiz that was advertised…

I’ve been going to this pub for about 3 years and the staff have been nothing but polite and hospitable. Maybe the person who wrote the last comment should realise that children in pubs should be closely supervised at all times! The beers are always kept well and they have a great selection of pies. This pub is definitely the best in Headington by a distance.

Niice pub and gardens i have been going in there for the last 20yr but i found 1 think wrong this summer staff are not understanding of children with special needs sham with the nice weather on its way not many pubs with gardens to go to.

Classic pub — friendly, invariably busy and doesn’t rest on it’s olde worlde charm, although it has bags of that too. Garden is lovely in the summer. Inside there always seems to be somewhere to sit, although only just. Manages to straddle the gulf between being a friendly local and a lively social pub. Probably because it mercifully has no music, several very well kept and regularly changing beers and a resident landlord and lady who seem to really take pride in running a good pub. They achieve that and more.

One of the best pubs in Headington. I agree with all the positive points that other reviewers have written.

Warm, friendly pub in the heart of Old Headington next to a church. Mulled wine on a freezing night was served by friendly staff. Big pub quiz on a Tuesday night. This pub definitley worth a look

Probably my favourite pub in Oxford, highly recommended! Good beer(including a selection of real ales), edible food and a nice mix of regulars and occassional visitors. It also has one of the best beer gardens in Oxford: secluded, walled, floral, grassy, plenty of seats and a perfect place for whiling away a sunny afternoon.

Fantastic pub with a great range of ales. New management really taken off and put in a great new pub menu. Always welcoming and have a beer festival coming up on the 16th/17th of May. Over 20 casks alessounds good to me. BBQ throughout the day. What more can you ask!

Nice, rambling, traditional pub with a beer garden and a good selection of beers, popular with hospital staff as well as students at the nearby Ruskin College site.

The White Hart offers a rural feel in the villagey centre of Old Headington, opposite the mediaeval church. This is a traditional, multi-roomed pub with a single central servery and a large and very nice beer garden, which has a generous covered area for smokers. The interior walls are decorated with old prints and photos. They do bar snacks and traditional pub food, including starters and excellent puds, with a good selection of real ales: Tiger Bitter, Pitch Black Stout and Burton Bridge’s ‘Wonder Wully’ on my visit. There’s a very popular quiz night during the week. Service was friendly and efficient: the only downer on our recent visits have been smelly Gents’ loos.

Tucked away in the backstreets of Headington, opposite St Andrew’s church, the olde worlde pub is popular with doctors and nurses alike from the nearby hospital. It has almost everything you could want from a pub — lovely Cotswoldy exterior, cosy interior, friendly bar staff, and a great beer garden in the summer.
