Really mediocre experience. Yo! Recently stopped their service with deliveroo so I had to go into the restaurant instead. The open-plan kitchen makes the whole restaurant unpleasantly hot — also makes sushi WARM, yuk! grim! One order to the kitchen took about half hour to deliver and the food is oily(salmon firecracker rice). There are fruitflies flying around fruit dishes and lots of stuff busy headlessly walking around and chatting to each other n chatting to customers trying to be «friendly» but not doing actual work(they are a fast food store but a miso soup top up literally takes 5mins for a staff to notice the request). All in all, in the restaurant experience is barely mediocre.

The sushi at this place is «meh» but I’m a sucker for fun stupid things like conveyer belts, so that’s the only reason I would go again.

Yo! Sushi is a conveyor belt restaurant but you can also order. This place has good sushi but pricey and gives you small amounts of sushi! If you do go there check the prices and I recommend getting the miso soup because you get unlimited free refills!!!

Eh, ok. So, there is a «fast food» type sushi place in Oxford. Great. They still use little to no spice, and I guess that is due to the demographics. I am not impressed with food on conveyor belts either. There are a TON of other places close by. Skip Yo! Sushi.

Yo Sushi was a great starting point on my England Adventure. The US Dollar is not great in the United Kingdom right now but I really liked Yo Sushi. You simply sit down at the Sushi bar and there is a moving belt with all different kinds of Sushi. I cleaned about 5 bowls of sushi lol. I was starving after my long 8 hours flight and 2 hour bus ride. I recommend this joint to anyone that loves Sushi!!!

Although my Unilocal profile might not reflect it yet, I like to think of myself as a bit of a sushi connoisseur and I’ll straight out say that I agree with Jesselynn S. … conveyor belt sushi is the worst and Yo! Sushi is no exception. I’ve been to this location twice, both on the requests of other people, and I’ll say the best part is the easy access to water. If you have no idea what sushi tastes like and don’t mind paying a bit too much then I say go to Yo! Sushi, enjoy it, but don’t let it be your impression of what sushi is. Too many people in the UK end up going to places like Yo! Sushi as it is essentially the only sushi chain, and end up coming out either not wanting sushi again or adding it to the ‘meh’ list. I suggest if you are in Oxford and want sushi, hop on the Oxford Tube and head to London where essentially all of the UK’s good sushi restaurants are located.

Worst sushi place ever. It’s bland, expensive and small portioned. It will leave you hungry. I’m giving it one star because of the ambiance.

Much like one of the other reviewers, I don’t hate it(bc it’s the only«kind of» sushi place in town), but I don’t love it either. If you want good sushi, don’t come here, but if you are in the mood for sushi & just want to somewhat satisfy your cravings, consider it. It’s fast food sushi — what do you expect? It actually turned out to be kind of expensive and not that filling, but I think that’s because we picked out two grey plates(the most expensive ones, but of course also the better selection). It could be cheap if you miss out on the 5 pound grey plates & go for the unlimited miso soup refills. I think if we come back next time, the strategy will be to go for the miso soup refills and wait around for the good moderately priced plates to come by(but you have to wait for them…).

really pretty good. you can be a bit stranded far from the conveyor hub and get less choice, but you can ask for specific dishes, too. staff erratic.

I hate conveyor belt sushi. Hate hate hate. All of the conveyor belt sushi restaurants that I’ve visited(about 5 of them in total… 2 in LA, 2 in Singapore, 1 in Japan) have more or less sucked balls. Raw fish is NOT meant to sit in room temperature and go round and round for hours. Ugh! But after moving to Oxford for months, my sushi cravings finally broke my no-conveyor-belt sushi rule of thumb and lo and behold, I didn’t hate Yo! sushi! I didn’t love it either, but it’s worth visiting at least once if you live in the area. My first dish was the salmon sashimi, which was surprisingly non-rubbery or fishy. The slices were really small though… so it’s not really worth the poundage.(I can’t remember how much that plate cost… about 3.50 I think?) The dishes that won me over the(surprise surprise) the fried ones. There was this dish with four cute little deep-fried round croquets that was just absolutely delicious! And the prawn katsu! Mmmm! Crunchy, sweet, tender sticks of looooove. They were still piping hot when I grabbed them off the belt, so I think Yo! actually has a pretty quick turn-around time for their dishes. We also tried the squid salad(eh, not that exciting, but not horrible either) and the chicken teriyaki(the meat was kinda mealy… blergh)… and then I turned to a plate of pumpkin croquets. Not as mind-alteringly delicious as the prawns, but once again, how can you go wrong with deep-fried dishes? Oh, so the reason why I gave this place 3 stars instead of 4… is the PRICE. F*cking expensive for the amount of food you get! Although on weekdays they have 25% discounts for students, so I suppose that lessens the blow… go to Yo! if you’ve got loads of money to spare(in which case maybe we should be friends =D) and don’t really give a crap about health, then pass on the sushi dishes and just OD on those croquets… yum, cholesterol!

Yes, it is exciting to have a Yo! Sushi in Oxford, but then I’m not sure it’s really the best sushi. The layout with the moving sushi plates on a track is cool enough, although I’m never comfortable sitting on those high chairs, but there are booths, too. Service is usually good, although sometimes if you’re in a less frequented part of the sushi bar, you may need to wave someone over to help you. The take out options can be tempting, but somehow I feel it always costs more than if you’re eating at the sushi bar If I’m honest, I prefer some other sushi places in London, but like I said, it’s better than no sushi in Oxford!

I’m a big fan of Yo! Sushi, as both meal and experience — I haven’t had a bad one yet. That said, though, Oxford is so far the best I’ve had. Situated at the end of George Street, between Giraffe and Nando’s, Yo! Sushi suffers from being just two doors away from ‘Opium Den’, which offers Teriyaki and other Bento boxes as well as Dim Sum. Opium Den was pretty busy, yet Yo! seemed pretty quiet. As with every branch I’ve been to, Yo! Oxford is spotlessly clean, and both modern and cool. The food on the conveyor was first-class, and we found a couple of dishes that we hadn’t seen on the menu before including spicy chicken katso made into a maki roll. We ordered a couple of hot dishes including a tasty prawn noodle and a hot chicken katso, with the lot washed down with hot green tea. As always, its the experience more than the food that makes lunch at Yo! Sushi fun, and I’m glad there’s a good one in Oxford!
