Eine gemütliche Atmosphäre, in der man mit Freunden in Ruhe plaudern oder(über den Wifi-Zugang) chatten kann.

What a find. We were in Penzance this lunchtime after a little shopping and looking around the town. We were looking for a coffee shop/bistro to have some lunch in. We walked down the street, found the pub looked through the window and thought«this is for us» we both had roast beef. While we enjoyed our drinks we were able to view our surroundings. What a great atmosphere. It is super to sit in a place which hasn’t been doctored to fit the ideal punter. The roast arrived shortly after, beautifully presented in a tower fashion(unlike what is a normal pub style) and the veggies, what a selection! to choose from(not for them the peas! broccoli and runner beans.). It was so unexpected to get this quality and style my wife thought that the sweets must be just as good. It was, she had banoffi pie. It was fantastic. She was struggling to eat it so asked my assistance. I helped of course and found that it was really great, superb crispy crunchy base soft and delightfully tasty centre. Thank you for the best pub lunch I have had in a long long time. Well done, keep up the good work.

A nice pub in the most interesting part of town near the Egyptian House, & the Penzance Arts Club If you go into the street parallel afterwards, you can get a wonderful Thai meal

The oldest pub in Penzance. Serves excellent pub food and a couple of local ales. Usually has a guest beer as well. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Good food, pleasant pub if not a bit small. Nice beer garden and beers very well kept.

We went to the Turks Head on a Monday night, was busy when we got there but quietened down a bit later on. A few things were no longer available which was a bi dissapointing as limited the menu somewhat. Thise in the group that had the stir fry and steak were impressed. The pork was dissapointing and the fish pie was ok but nothing amazing. The pub is nice but dissapointing that no Cornish cider on tap. Generally a nice place but nothing to be blown away by.

This famous old pub in Chapel Street, Penzance, is one of the last remaining pubs that has not been upgraded into todays plastic and metal modern bar. Low ceiling, small rooms, steep stairs, outside toilets, it has true character. But the best thing about this little gem of a pub is the food. Outstanding menu and brilliantly prepared and served. It can get a little cramped in the small restaurant part, which is essentially only tables and chairs. You can order and eat anywhere, but best to book as it is always busy. But is is well worth the effort. The beers and wines are very good, so you will not be let down if you head there for a meal and end up staying for the whole evening.

Cosy and friendly pub with great service. Jonathan the landlord does a great job in keeping locals happy and making newcomers welcome. The food is far above normal pub fodder and the Turks is a rare place in that it is a Cornish pub in a town that has a beer garden. I like it here.

It’s an amphibious place(in a good sense), imagine going to a proper traditional pub to get a restaurant service. I felt a little awkward to sit there and order my brown beer at the table where I couldn’t see and hear those pumps. Please rest assured, services will be as usual pub regimes if you just drink but don’t have meal. The Turks Head is said to be the oldest pub & restaurant in Penzance and Cornwall and attacts a great number of barflies and tourists hence it’s pretty busy. The garden at the back is a must in summer although I sat there in the rain for a while. Reservation is recommended for a smooth evening. Good selection of real ales, fantastic food, prompt service and interesting decorationyeah, lots of old stuff — it’s been there since 1233, what do you expect? A round of applause for well-maintained atmosphere and superb food & drink.
