I’ve been back and had a much better experience. It was a nice relaxing visit where a good pint of Tribute and a real raspberry cider were enjoyed!

Gone off a bit. Had my worries since they stopped doing those excellent pies.

A good pub. generally well kept ales and better than average pub food. A bit off the beaten track unless you live on the wrong side of the Plym estuary known as the Cattewater or can co-ordinate your travel times adequately to be able to use the waterbus from the Barbican.

A fantastic pub. Friendly staff especially the land lord and land lady. Great real ales and good prices on food and drink. Food is fantastic, from fish and chips to rib eye steak and they do the odd vegie dish too which caters for my pain in the bum girlfriend. The b+b is clean and comfortable, the locals are very friendly. Dogs and children are also welcome. They sometimes have live music on at the weekend and every couple of months have a real ale weekend with a fantastic range of ales and the odd good strong cider. I’ve never seen any problems in this pub. It’s a little hidden gem in Turnchapel. Worth finding if your in the area. If you have a complaint the staff bend over backwards to help you and make up for it. Best customer service by far! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and would take my family down any time. I am a local and have lived here in the area all my life. Cant really say there is anything better in the area. Recommended strongly!

Full of very friendly locals in here. Real ales are the real selling point and if your a fan then you wont be disappointed in here! Very relaxed. Situated in the picturesque village of Turnchaple, lovely to have a walk round on a summers day.

I am a regular visitor to this wonderfully characteristic pub. It is quaint with bags of charm! The pub has a reputation for serving wonderful food, a reputation very well deserved. The Fish and Chips is massive! The pub has loads of Real Ales and regular hosts beer festivals, which are very well attended. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere will leave you wanting to return quickly. The pub also welcomes weary dogwalkers for refreshment, with a ready supply of doggie munches for the tired hound! A must-visit place!
