The Clovelly Bay Inn

Lovely looking pub inside and outside (as long as you like bright colours!)
Three beers on. Summerskills Bitter and Skinners Hunny Bunny were good. I wasn’t as keen on the Old Slug Porter, but I’m less fond in general of most darker beers.
So happy to finally make it here after being thwarted on previous stays in the city!

This is one of our favourite pubs in Plymouth, really good beer including a tasty Cornish lager and good unpretentious and tasty food. It is not fine dining and doesn’t pretend to be, the food is simple, tasty, well presented and there are generous portions.
The service is very friendly and very good, I’ve rarely been made to feel more welcome.
The chips are very good, the soups hearty and tasty, the sandwiches are American in their size and come with chips and salad and whenever we have eaten here we have enjoyed the food. We really like the seafood platter, make sure you go in hungry!
Why not 5 stars? Well that would have to be outstanding but definitely 4 and half stars from me!

I gave this pub originally a ³⁄₅ star review on the google web site but was shocked to be then barred from this pub due to that review. In my mind this is petty even though i did not cause any trouble in the place except give them an average review. It has come to my attention that other local people have also had the same treatment through complaining about food or drinks and prices in the place. They do not like any one complaining about anything and do not look after or reason with people with problems. Their solution to issues are to ban who ever makes the complaint. In my mind this is petty and unprofessional. Dont waste your time if you want a good service from this place, use one of the other local pubs for a 5 star service.

This cosy pub really has loads going for it. The only drawback is parking but if we set that aside, this pub really is a treat for the unsuspecting visitor! The pub is clean, and the bar staff are very friendly. There is a fine selection of Real Ales, but the speciality is the excellent food! This menu really does need to be sampled. Great variety and enormous portions! Highly recommended!

A really lovely friendly pub in a perfect location right by the water. Not very easy to drive down the scary hill to the pub but there is plenty of parking at the top of the hill and it is really only a short walk! The food is always well cooked and certainly wont leave you hungry and the staff are always happy to see you. Plenty of choice on the menu and behind the bar. Usually specials to choose from and a family and dog friendly atmosphere. A great pub to visit at anytime, either for a huge sunday lunch, a few quiet drinks in the evening or for a busy saturday night.

This is a friendly local pub on the waterfront in the village of turnchapel with a traditional atmosphere. There is limited car parking but there is a free public car park near by. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very generous. The food is of good quality, well-​cooked and well presented. Overall a good place for an enjoyable meal out.
