Great pub, friendly staff and a really good selection of beers reasonably priced. Added bonus is that it is within walking distance of home! Even better when you are a member of Camra!

A proper pub, 8 or 9 ales, including the wonderful Spingo 6.7%(only served on a sunday apparently). Good atmosphere, mixed clientele, welcoming staff. Delicious Sunday lunch, served with Spingo gravy. Went back in the evening for the quiz which was good fun, hosted by genial M.C.

A lovely looking friendly pub serving 6 interesting real ales on my visit (think they can serve up to 9). Despite having other places to go I ended up staying for 3 good pints, of which the best was the Harvest Moon Ale from Saltaire. I could see why the pub has been the local pub of the year for 3 years now.
I enjoyed a bit of joshing banter with the group at the bar, each time I went up for a refill. The music was pretty good too. The only drawback for me is its location on Mutley Plain. I’d love to relocate it to the Barbican!
