China Red

I have been coming to China red ever since it opened many years ago and I have never found cause to complain the staff are very attentive and the food is always second to none :-) keep up the good work and I will be a loyal customer for a lot more years to come :-)

If you are looking for a romantic setting and an excellent Chinese meal this is the place to go. The choice is varied and the food is excellent. The staff are very friendly and one of the features of this restaurant is their indoor koi carp pool. A great place for a great night out.

We visited China Red in Feb 2012 for a birthday meal, the staff were quiet but friendly. We didn’t have to wait too long for our meals to arrive and they were tasty and hot, however we found that the restaurant was very very cold even for that time of the year, portable heaters were placed around various points in the restaurant, but this had little effect and we ended up wearing our coats. The staff made some attempt to assist but really it wasn’t enough. It did put a downer on the evening, but the food was nice enough, I had a tofu dish which was perhaps a little too salty other than that we enjoyed our meal. Parking is available nearby.

I visited China Red on Friday 3 June as part of a party of 17, it was my first visit this restaurant. We arrived just after 7.00pm, everything was going swimmingly then the power went off. After about 5 minutes the lights came back but the kitchen remained in darkness, 40 minutes later the kitchen was still in darkness. I jokingly said something about no food coming out of the kitchen for 40 minutes so we asked a member of staff. She confirmed that they had been cooking by candlelight but assured us that our main courses were on their way. After another 10 minutes they finally arrived with mixed results: some peoples food was warm or luke warm. My Beef in Oyster Sauce was barely warm for 30 seconds and my rice was awful, hasten to say i didn’t each much. When it came to the bill they tried to charge us full, when we mentioned about the delays and cold food they knocked a paultry £30 off. That is less than £2 each, I certainly will not be going back again. The staff are unpleasant and hardly smile, I don’t think they would have told us about the problems if we hadn’t asked and we would probably still be waitng for our meals now

Decent food and reasonably cheap. Immense restaurant, good beer and good service. Not the most amazing but maybe because they were catering for several large parties

Great restaurant with a wide range of dishes on the menu. Is decorated in a simple but authentic way with a large Koi Carp pool with waterfall at the front of the restaurant. It is very popular although the acoustics can be quite frustrating as the room is very large and square with a extremely high ceiling, which makes everyones conversations blend into one big racket. It is probably the most popular restaurant in Poulton at the moment, even with more than enough competition.

Fabulous chinese — particularly good value is the buffet all you can eat deal on Mon-​thursday where you can have as much as you like of each course for a very reasonable price. Nice place, but can be a little large for just a romantic dinner for two, is much better if there are a few of you. Does welcome younger diners too, which is nice and there is always a good mix of people there.

One of the finest Chinese restaurants on the Fylde coast well worth the trip to Poulton if you want quality Chinese food.
Can be a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area but well worth it.
Restaurant is large and decorated pleasantly, the staff are always excellent. Parking can be a problem in Poulton, there is limited parking around the back of the restaurant.
