Just your usual sushi train type setup. Nothing fancy. Freshly made in front of you if you sit at the bar. All the condiments are at your fingertips. Not any music & the TVs just show what’s on the menu. How bout some Japanese game shows? They are hilarious!

This is the McDonalds of the sushi world but you know what to expect every time. Food is normally pretty good. If its not available on the belt then the staff will order it straight away via their new mobile handsets. I generally go away from the belt food to know that my order is freshly made. Hand rolls here are good and worth a try. Service can vary as different waitresses appear every week but are attentive to your needs. The only thing I don’t like is the fact that the staff take their break and eat next to you whilst quaffing their company entitlement but I suppose when in Rome eh?

Visited at the weekend for a quick break while shopping in Reading. I love it here and I’ve never had a bad dish or experience to date. Good atmosphere, staff are great, service good. I could eat everything on the menu while watching the chefs prepare the food. Ended up staying longer than expected due to enjoying my visit. I like the price range of different dishes to suit your budget.

So fun! Which there were more sushi options going around the conveyor belt but then you can always order from the servers. Cute place with everything you need(soy, wasabi, water faucets, chopsticks) right at your seat.

It’s one of the better Yo Sushi’s. Food is generally good and fresh. Service is also generally good. And with a 1⁄3 off O2 priority moments app, it’s good value. The offer seems to run pretty regularly.

Great to have a sushi place in town for people who enjoy it. I was not the best fan but the customer service was good and very efficient. Well run business across the chain.

Yo! Sushi is great for those of you who are looking for a fast meal and those who have to see what they order before they eat it. The quality was decent, and the staff were quick and attentive, but the portion size was pathetic for both the«hot» meals as well as many of the trays that went by. Billing was very inefficient. When it takes you the same amount of time to wait in line and pay your bill as it does eat your entire meal your restaurant has a problem. To pay your bill you must queue up in front of the door(causing confusion with customers and staff as to who is coming and going) and wait. And wait. And wait. Waiting for your food makes sense. Waiting to give my money away does not.

YoSushi in Reading. Thank God. Exactly what it says on the tin. Staff are a little slacker than those in London, but more space than in Leicester Square. Staff vary, but can be very helpful and efficient. Apparently stopped defaulting to Wasabi in dishes due to local tastes.

my friend took me in there — first time for me in a sushi bar — loads of help and expert advice on hand for the novice foodie. Enjoyable experience and would possibly go again tho it is not my food heaven

One of my favourite places to eat, even better when there is a promotion! This place is very bright and modern. Great if you’re limited on time and even better when you have plenty of time! I recommend you bring a friend so you can share food(and try even more dishes) My faves are the pumpkin korroke, tamago nigiri, eel nigiri and prawn katsu. Be prepared to watch dishes like a hawk and grab it asap! They do a good selection of vegetarian and seafood but also duck, chicken and beef. I haven’t had the nerve to dine alone but I have picked up a takeaway junikie box.

Yo! Sushi is located on the Riverside of The Oracle plaza, and has one entrance through the House of Fraser into the shopping mall. This was my first time in a sushi bar with the conveyor belt system and it adds a certain charm. You can tell how fresh each item is, because each one has a decal on it noting the time it was put on the belt. Greeted and shown to one of the seats(they also have booths, but these seem to be reserved for parties of more than one), he explained to me how things worked, asked if I wanted to order a drink and left me with the menu. Pretty self explanatory. You take what you like off the belt and at the end, they total up your empties. Different colors are different prices. Obviously, the simple stuff like cucumber rolls were on the less expensive plates and the sashimi was on the more expensive plates. Five grades. No surprise. Interesting countertop, each seat has a sunken slot for napkins and chopsticks as well as containers for soy sauce, wasabe and ginger. I liked that, because I really like ginger and hate having to ask for more. There are also spigots for water(flat or fizzy) and you can refill yourself. £1. Bonus! The sushi, on the other hand, was nothing to write home about(though technically, I’m writing home about it now). I had five dishes(3 @ 2.80, 1 @ 3.30 and 1 @ 5.00), which for a total of £17.70 should have left me filled. It did not. I did enjoy some of them, but some of them I did not. I figured I would get out when I was ahead, or at least, not too far behind. If you have a major sushi craving, as I did, this place is OK. But I am hoping that there is better somewhere else in Reading. I won’t be back.

OK, I did see the piece recently on how long the food sometimes stays on the conveyor belt is and how healthy the food actually is, but here’s the thing. I don’t care. I’ll take the risk, because the food is so yummy. Plus I totally get sucked in to the novelty of the idea of food whizzing past me on a conveyor belt. It’s just damn cool. Just don’t try the desserts. The starters and the hairy prawns are amazing though, and it’s a great way for a novice sushi eater to try it without forking out a huge amount.

I absolutley LOVE Yo Sushi. I was one of the first in there when it opened(I was pregnant at the time) and now go there regularly with my husband and little girl. The staff are fantastic, very welcoming, great with kids and the food is so easy. you can just pop in for a bite of spend longer if you wish. It’s managed very well and it is by far our fave place in Reading and my husband doesn’t even like fish!!! The fish here is excellent. Cann’t write a bad word as over the 40+ times we have been here we have never had a bad expereince!

I thought this place is brilliant. It really doesn’t get much better than this. But the I saw how much it was! Only joking. but seriously I would probably go there much more often if it was cheaper. However the food is great and you really can’t fault with much. So yeh, a good place to eat.

I love it here, its such great fun. the food is very fresh, you can see the chefs working which is brilliant, the boots are comfy, & I love the set up on the tables, with your own little water founain! The sushi, noodles & rice are all great & price is dependant on plate colour, so you can pick how much you spend. the staff are also excellent here. Its worth visiting the site for good offers too.

Being that this is a part of a chain, if you’ve tried Yo! Sushi before you should know what sort of experience your going to get. I love sushi and make it at home every once in a while but never to the standard of Yo! Sushi. All their restaurants are pretty similar, they are all styled in a clean and professional way with a selection of tasty dishes slowly moving around on a conveyor belt in front of you. Just choose what you want and then settle up at the end. It’s all very nicely prepared and there is a wonderful selection so if one thing doesn’t take your fancy then there is sure to be something following along soon that will appeal. Price is dependant on the colour of the plate/dish that you select so pay attention if you don’t want a surprise when you come to pay. If you’ve never tried sushi then you really should as it is a wonderfully different taste sensation and you won’t go far wrong by visiting any Yo! Sushi.
