Stopping in for a break from some steady shopping in Richmond on the recent bank holiday found us in the Cedar coffee shop. It’s small with few seats but luckily, we found some. They run a ‘pay when you leave’ operation here as I was informed followed by several other customers in the half-hour or so we stayed. Not fancy by any means but certainly not shabby, from the large windows one can view a bridge crossing the Thames along with some river and greenery — pleasant. My hot chocolate was lovely and the missus’ tea was, apparently, «nice». Our pannini’s were the let down though as would’ve been the case whatever hot snack we chose. The taste was fine — nice, even — but the cost was disproportionate to the size. At £4.80 I would’ve expected something larger, not that it was tiny but it was none-the-less gone in too few bites. That is, however, the worst of it, which is hardly the end of the world. The Cedar coffee shop is just a place to stop in for a sit down before moving on to more exciting things, whatever they may be. To more exciting things! Ian
