Pros: Good location, nice décor and food was nice Cons: bit expensive for what it was, not the best staff in the world…

The location makes it; located on what used to be the village bakery, it’s seconds from the station and a short walk from Kew Gardens, by the corner of a lovely small square. The vibe is indeed of a greenhouse, huge windows on the tearoom letting the sunshine in and a conservatory at the back. If you prefer to eat outside in the summer there are pretty little tables on the sidewalk, flower baskets scattered all around, where you can sit and enjoy the village life. They have quite a large selection of baked goods and also basic savoury meals(pies, salads, baked potatoes, etc), and the price being less than a tenner each is quite reasonable for the area. The baked vanilla cheesecake is great. It is BAKED, so do not expect it to be the same as a regular cheesecake, as it becomes more like a cake in texture and flavour. The service was ok, not too smiley or cheerful but I’m not that needy and my cake was enough to cheer me up. :) Don’t bother with the coffee. Who has coffee with cake anyway? This is England. Order the tea, it’s really nice and much more value for money as it comes in a huge pot — I got almost 4 full lovely cups out of mine. If you don’t fancy the cafés inside Kew then it’s a great alternative. Cash only.

This place is adorable, conveniently located between Kew Gardens and the tube station, and has lovely staff. We had a stellar dinner post Kew Gardening: I had some kind of delicious veggie pie, one friend had a lentil pie(also yummy), and another friend had steak pie(tender and tasty). All came with generous side salads.

After 4 h in Kew Gardens, me and my mum were knackered and thought we could have a hot cup of coffee before heading home so we popped in this nice looking café. Unfortunately that’s the only positive thing about it. We ordered 2 flat whites and a slice of a very expensive cheesecake. I thought for the price it should be the most delicious piece on earth. Of course it wasn’t. On the opposite, the only word that describes the taste of it is rubber. You can buy better cheececakes in a supermarket. Next, I took 2 sips of the ‘coffee’. It was disgusting, watery, thin, weak and had no flavour at all. As I tried to no avail to make an eye contact with any of the waitresses to ask if they could possibly make a new one, I eventually took the cup to the counter, told them it was definitely not a flat white and asked for another one. The second one was no different. So I left it and asked for a refund as they already charged us. The manager told me they did not issue refunds and everyone who comes to the café likes the coffee and no one ever complains. This is a bit funny, only looking up on the internet you can see people commenting about the taste of his ‘coffee’. I suggest the guy tries the real coffee and stop talking rubbish. As a coffee lover and visiting many coffee shops in London, big and small, I can say that what he sells is cheap filth and should not be drunk by people who like the taste of a real brew. Overall, the experience was so disappointing and ruined our very nice day. The food and drinks are overpriced and the staff substandard, giggling to each other instead of looking after the customers. And the coffee, well, I make better myself at home. One star only because 0 is not available and lucky for the café that it is close to the station.

Over priced and the service is sub standard. Was not impressed. There are much better places to visit. Clearly the prices are aimed at tourists visiting kew gardens. Generally very unimpressed.

Breakfast was pretty good although i watched them cook my scrambled eggs in the microwave, which was a bit off-putting. The hot chocolate was delicious… the service was awful… This girl had the worst attitude and next time i see her working there i will turn around and walk back out… I have been in again to grab a croissant and another waitress was extremely friendly… I’m going to start taking names. The croissant was very disappointing. I feel like i could have gotten one just like it anywhere and it was not flaky or anything. I think its ok, but Kew has better breakfast elsewhere.

Every time we find ourselves in Kew we come here for scones and tea. It’s a lovely little place and I love their scones. The service can be spotty, although this time around it’s been good, and we’ve been twice in the past two days, so that should tell you something about the quality. My only complaint is that it’s a cash-only operation. Otherwise, enjoy!

A great place to grab lunch or tea on your way to/from Kew Gardens. We had a lovely lunch here — my husband had a beef pie and I had a pork rouladen type item with vegetables. This café is nicely decorated, quiet and clean, and just a moments walk to the train station. Prices were reasonable(speaking as a person used to paying central London tariffs) and the food we had was very good.

Located near the Kew Garden’s tube stop, this little shop has some incredible looking food both savory and sweet. It’s all pre-made in a display case. We only had drinks because we had dinner plans shortly. While relaxing with our drinks, we observed the food being prepared and the presentation of the food is beautiful. This is a must stop when visiting the Kew Gardens area.

A right old traditional, classy café. 30 seconds from the station and 4 minutes from kew gardens. I used to pop here in my break from work and just escape for half an hour and this is a perfect place to escape. Great cup of tea in china cup and indoor plants makes you feel like you have gone back in time to a simpler age. Best place in kew to people watch and take a step back from your busy life. Also when then sun is shining i love sitting out outside and catching some rays

I’m all for sitting around outside, relaxing and people watching. And that is exactly what I did here today. I’ve been meaning to try this place out since I’d moved to Kew, and today had a gorgeous sunny afternoon, so I made excuses to go. Me and the boy grabbed our respective papers, snagged a table outside, and ordered pots of tea. I can’t really comment on the food(yet! I’ll for sure be back), but it is a nice little café to sit around and watch the hustle and bustle around Kew Village.

Two minutes walk from the station and ten to the gates of Kew Gardens, this little café is in such a fantastic location. It is surrounded with potted plants and hanging baskets, keeping in theme with it’s name. The table cloths inside are also covered in a leafy patterned print. It is on the corner the road so gets a good amount of light coming through the windows which take up a large part of the building, and make the place feel more spacious. The general feeling I got from this place was one of stereotypical ‘Englishness’. As for the menu there are the usual hot and cold beverages as well as some alcoholic drinks(including yummy Pimms!). But more importantly(in my eyes at least) there are a great range of mouth watering home made cakes such a baked vanilla cheesecake, spiced apple and apricot pie, and date and ginger cake. I went for the baked vanilla cake and oh boy it was good! Perfectly light and softly textured whilst having a rich taste and yet subtle vanilla flavour. They also have a wide choice of main meals on the menu from celery & walnut roast to pork and ham roulade. I personally found all the prices a little more than I expected as I walked in the door(£8 — 9) because it has a slightly more café feel than restaurant. I guess the price is because of the area, and all the food appeared to be of high quality, however I would prefer to pay closer to £5 than £10 for the atmo
