To give a supermarket 5 stars seems a bit sad of me but sadly I know my supermarkets as I have people to feed on a daily basis. This is the best one Ive been to in all the time Ive lived here. It is enormous There is a free carpark and the carwashers dont chase you when they see a potential customer. well sometimes they do Staff are always happy to help and polite seafood counter Meat counter hot food Pharmacy ATM petrol The fruit and veg are always fresh which is not always the case in other stores. I dare you to not find something you need. it is so big I always buy more than I plan because its all there at the same time. Supermarkets are cheap in London compared to Sydney where Im from. its embarrassing walking out pulling a trolley and pushing a second trolley while yelling at my toddler to hold on to something incase I lose her in the excitement.

I’ve been to bigger and better Sainsbury’s but this one is in a handy location for me when I working, so I quite often use it

This is a massive Sainsbury’s — larger than any Sainsbury’s in central London that I know of. I was on a quest to find a Sainsbury’s jute bag and visited two of the larger Sainsbury’s in central london, but none of them had it. I had basically given up but decided to take one last shot. This Sainsbury’s is close to the North Sheen rail station and has a massive car park. In addition to the groceries, they also had a very well stocked pharmacy and toiletries section, so you can pick up your favourite cold medicine and shampoo while you do your food shopping. And yes, I did find my jute bag here! Success! In addition to the jute bag, they also had this nifty nylon packable bag that packs up very small. I picked one of those up too. This Sainsbury’s is very clean — not unorganized and dirty like some of the smaller Sainsbury’s in central London.

One of the best things(or worst depending upon your point of view) is that if you are approaching Sainsburys from the South then you have to go over a level crossing. It is a very busy one as the railway line is from Richmond and beyond to Waterloo. So chances are you will get stuck at the crossing. My kids actually enjoy this, though you’d have to be pretty desperate to go to this Sainsbury’s for this reason alone. It does have a petrol station with the cheapest prices I can find in the area(without looking too hard I admit) and the shop itself is a pleasant enough modern large building. It stands out in my mind for it’s artic temperatures. The lady serving me on Friday was actually wearing gloves. I suggest she might want to invest in some with non-slip pads, as quite a lot of traction is lost with your regular bog standard mits. Not ideal when whizzing things over the scanner and down the conveyor belt.
