Tortilla is a small burrito chain with some great flavours and options to suit various tastes.

Tortilla is the British version of Chipotle… and as an American, I can say that Tortilla measures up to Chipotle quite well. Everything is pretty much the same; ingredient options, protein choices, the fact that the guacamole is still an extra charge ;), etc. There is one thing unique to Tortilla and it’s down to their house hot sauces(two kinds), they are both spicy as hell so they both tickle my fancy! Be prepared to guard your hot sauce(or pour out a huge chunk of it) as they are popular and you might be asked to share your sauce(there are a few bottles floating around). I would go back if I needed a quick lunch.

An European Chipotle, not as good but pretty close with decent price. The restaurant is clean and the staff very friendly. We also had some Margarita that tasted pretty good for a fast food

An American cannot review a place like this without reference to Chipotle, as that is the leader of the genre in the US. So, if you’re a Chipotle addict, and you find yourself far from Chipotle head to Tortilla. It’s extremely comparable in concept and all that sustainability jazz, and the food is pretty good and inexpensive. I recommend the hot salsa, as well as the chicken as a meat option. One important thing to note is that you have the option between a medium sized burrito(or bowl) or a large. I really wish Chipotle would adopt this, as I eat all of the burrito that is laid before me. So, a Chipotle burrito makes me want to take a nap within 7 minutes of leaving, the medium at Tortilla left me satisfied and not feeling comatose. There’s also beer and margaritas!

I’ve eaten plenty of Chipotle, and this place is just as good in flavor but surpasses Chipotle in portion size. I’m unsure if other Tortilla locations are as generous but they don’t joke around with packing that burrito. Weighed like a pound and it may cause serious head injuries if the burrito fell from a two-story building.

Tortilla, you have done it again, except nearly right on my doorstep. The Richmond Tortilla location could quite possibly be my favorite. It’s big and has high ceilings and is light and airy — so much better than the Hammersmith location which is small and dark and cramped. Restaurant space and design aside, the food at Tortilla is just as delicious as it is at their other locations. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Tortilla is better than the mother of burrito shops, Chipotle. It just is. Now if Tortilla would only open a space in Chiswick… if only…
