I. Was here for another reason and stumbled upon this place has it was next door Its a very small place I’m not sure if you could go up stairs as well when you purchase your drinks or if they bring your food up there cause its so small you can’t all sit in the window seating There was a few people sat in the window seating so it looks full ‚ This is part of a street set up as an heritage centre, there’s a few pieces of interest here to be part of a trip out You can do a little walk around all this cobbled street especially if you like history ‚ The pub is called the Baum on toad lane, its got a very pleasant feel to it being a hark back to by gone days ‚ They serve lunch and evening meals and its on a blackboard What’s on the day it varies They have beers on an old pump type of draught which keeps in with the style of the place, They do a very nice pint to ‚ The little bit of what to see is well worth the trip as its all free apart from the food and beer of course, come see,

I’m not very familiar with Rochdale — in fact I’ve only been twice and both times took a trip to The Baum. It is one of the best pubs I’ve even been in and is made even better by its great prices! It’s located on an adorable little cobbled street just outside the town centre and it does seem to be one of those places where you have to know about it to find it. As well as a great choice of real ales on cask, it has a wide choice of bottles(complete with the corresponding glasses!) They also do CAMRA discount Sunday — Thursday. But it’s not just a place for drinking — the food is amazing! Maybe it’s because I’m used to Manchester city centre prices the food seemed very cheap considering the quality of it. As well as a permanent menu there are changing specials, a roast of the day and mix and match tapas style dishes so something for everyone. I just wish it was slightly closer to me!

My favourite beer of the day was Fireside porter. I decided that it was time I visited my mate in Rochdale. Rochdale isn’t exactly celebrious, but does have CAMRA’s pub of the year 2013, The Baum! If you’re not in a rush then you can now get there on the tram — £5 weekend ticket is pretty handy. We had a starter platter which was delicious, and then I had roast beef, which was very good(It was a Sunday after all) The building is a classic olde worlde pub and has lots of quirky items on the walls. Great selection of ale. Worth a visit!

I love going to The Baum pub. The food is great and the range of beers, lagers and wines is superb. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. The beer garden at the rear is huge, sheltered and a real sun trap. This is not a cheap place but highly recommended for a pleasant sociable visit.

If you are ever lucky/unlucky enough to find yourself in the centre of Rochdale one day/night, and before the urge to flee becomes too strong you may want to check out The Baum first. It is situated right next door to the CO-OP museum on Toad Lane, and in my opinion it is the only Pub/wine bar worth popping into in the centre. Although there is not very much competition to be found nearby. They have a very good selection of Real ales, beers, wines and spirits. And the food isn’t half bad either. It also has a very nice beer garden round the back(handy for us nicotine addicts). So remember, before you jump on your trusty Steed and run screaming back from whence you came, pop into The Baum for a swift one or ten, it’ll make the journey just that little bit easier…

Quite simply the best pub in Rochdale. Located on Toad Lane behind the main shopping precinct this pub is a little out of the way and can be hard to find if you don’t know Rochdale very well. But this is also a blessing as it means you are less likely to get the undesirable chavvy types in here. They have 6 hand pumps on all the time with constantly changing beers with usually at least one from Phoenix brewery and a guest cider which is usually one of Westerns range. They also have a range of continental beers on tap as well as an excellent bottled beer selection. The food is also really good with good sized portions. The Steak with chillies and blue cheese they did was fantastic.

Great food, great beer(4 «proper» daught beers, one cider, several lagers, Leffe, Kriek, excellent selection of botled beers) great décor, very friendly, nice seating area out back(wish it had been warmer), really couldn’t have been better. And visit the Co-op museum next door, worth a visit.

The Baum looks like a traditional English pub with dark wood, etc. At first glance it appears small but there are actually several seating areas and a garden although it gets very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. They do real ales and some interesting beers as well as a selection of good wines that are available by the glass as well as the bottle. They also have a tapas menu. Somehow the people you meet there always seem friendly. Overall, a very good place to go for a relatively quiet drink but go early if you’re going at the weekend.

A really nice old-fashioned characterful pub on a short cobbled street not far from the center of town. It has a good range of draft real ales and a extensive selection of foreign bottled beers. Most lunch times and evenings they do a good range of both traditional bar meals and their own variation on Tapas. They have a good sized beer-garden at the back complete with Boules pitches. The only drawbacks are: it gets very busy at the weekend and it can be rather expensive.
