I have to say at the start of this review that I wasn’t drinking the night I went here so I can’t comment on the cocktails but according to my friends, they were good though some were too sweet but I think that’s down to taste. This particular Turtle Bay only opened last month and it was absolutely packed when I visited with a group of 8 less has two weeks later on a Friday night. The restaurant itself is large for a town centre location and is well laid out with the bar in the centre. We skipped straight to the main and I had the Half Jerk Chicken with rice and peas. It arrived promptly considering our large group and how busy the place was. However, I wasn’t that impressed. I’ve had jerk chicken from Caribbean restaurants before and this looked nothing like I thought it would and tasted very different too. It was pleasant but not the best I’ve had. The chicken was dry under the skin and burnt and because of that I couldn’t finish it. I was disappointed but as I’ve only ever heard good things I’m hoping I caught them on a bad night. The rum menu did look good but I wasn’t happy when they were out of the one I ordered as a treat our my friend! I’ll go back but I won’t be rushing…
