I am a self-confessed calzone fiend and Prezzo does some of the tastiest calzones I’ve tried. They’re only a short distance from my office, next to Wagamama in MediaCityUK(see review ) so the temptation to be a regular diner is immense. If you’re a large group, it probably makes sense to book in advance, though we’ve been able to just stroll in at lunchtime and get a table for eight with no problem. The service has always been friendly and efficient and it’s nice to be able to see the chefs working away in front of the pizza oven. My biggest tip would be to make sure you get an online voucher before you go; they regularly do ‘second main course for £2.50′ type deals and we’ve never had to pay full price for our food. The range of pasta dishes are also really good and plentiful, though the pizzas are better IMO — I’d choose to eat here over any other Italian ‘chain’ anyday.

So I’ve been here twice, both times the service was rubbish. The first time it was pretty busy so I kind of let the off but the second time it was empty. Silly things become an issue, i.e. dirty glasses on the table, asked the waitress for new ones and she scowls and doesn’t return… not good. It’s absolute bare bones service i.e. you see a waitress to take your order and then again when you’re ready to pay — if you need another drink you have to find a way to get someones attention, not easy when they all seem to be trying to ignore you… The food is good but really, it’s just an more expensive Pizza Express… and there’s a Pizza Express five minutes away at the Lowry, usually with a 2-for-1 meals offer on… Good location though, a definite need for more restaurants around this area because this one is not cutting it for me…
