If you’re in this neck of the woods, and looking for somewhere to take the kids, I can recommend a trip to The Yorkshire Dales Icecream Parlour, my kids love it. Besides the gorgeous icecream they have other things on the menu too. There’s a lovely playground area outside with picnic tables for the parents to relax over a nice cappuccino whilst the kids let off steam. They also have party rooms available. Good facilities in general. If you’ve been visiting Skipton(which is only about 5 – 10 mins away by car), or just passing by, the Yorkshire Dales Ice Cream parlour is worth a visit. It’s also not far away from the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, another place worth a visit. One last recommendation, if you’d like guaranteed savings every month check out: —

This is a great place to take your kids an American themed ice cream parlour with lots of well designed climbing frames for the kids to play on. The ice cream is delicious, there are some 20 flavours or sorbets to choose from. So why a two star review? After having spent about £20 on icecream and coffee for our party of two adults and five kids, one of the children was thirsty They find undiluted apple juice too strong, so I asked if I could have some tap water to dilute it. Amazingly, I was told I couldn’t have tap water they only sell bottled water. Pointing at the tap, I asked the owner who was passing if he could please give me a little water to dilute the apple juice. He refused, telling me with some anger in his voice ‘I’ve spent a lot of money on this place, and lots of people sit here all day just drinking tap water’ Really? I know that people who invest money building lovely places need to recoup their investment and I would have been delighted to write a five star review, but for this experience. In the end what seems to me an extraordinary act of meanness to a child overshadowed our visit, compelled me to want to share the experience and has made it unlikely that I would return. Is the potential profit on selling a bottle of water rather than giving a splash from a tap really worth that?

set in the moors off the A59 half way between Skipton and Bolton Abbey, this really nice farm is nearly finished converting into a log cabin ice cream parlour with a superbe children’s play area featuring wood tractors, ship, castle an aeroplane, a train — I was tempted to have climb too. there is outside seating — not sure if there will be inside seating once the building work is finished. There is a large variety of flavours to choose from, if you like soft ice variety, you can have that too, choose sprinkles and sauces, cakes and cup cakes as well a paninies — there is something for everyone. Scoops are very very generous– and if you ask nicely you can try unusual flavours like licorice-blackcurrant or rhubarb-ginger before you buy. I was a little disappointed that the plates and cups were single, not for the environment conscious. — hopefully they will change that when they are fully up and running. Don’t be put off by me describing the building work — it does not spoil the visit at all — I just notice they were doing work. WC — is clean and well presented. I’ll come again.
