Nestled in the gorgeous Botanic Gardens, this restaurant in the north of Southport offers perhaps the most picturesque surroundings you could hope for — church, thatched roofs, very old buildings and plenty of local charm. It’s an unusual place for sure, with the odd little quirk of having a live feed from the kitchen displayed on two huge flatscreen TVs on the wall of the dining room so that guests can see exactly what’s going on. Gives a new meaning to the phrase ‘open kitchen’, certainly, and the staff are happy to come and chat to diners when service has finished. So we’ve got a confident chef, but how good is the food? British traditional with a few French sprinklings, freshly caught fish featuring in the daily specials, excellent cheeses and seasonal changes all amount to fresh, light and delicious cuisine, and the speed and friendliness of the staff just adds extra positives to an already great experience. Definitely book in advance though, it’s a popular little spot!

Awesome food, excellent service and lovely cosy atmosphere. You may need to book well in advance(especially at weekends) as the restaurant is very small and popular. Excellent menu choice. Parking available on nearby streets(free of charge).
