Lovely little bistro restaurant serving excellent food. We visited on 5th October at 7.30 where only one table had been reserved plus one other couple already eating. By 8.15, the place was full, so booking is advisable even out of season. I started with a trio of butternut squash small serving of soup, panna cotta and a salad, followed by partridge, which was excellent. My husband had apple and parsnip soup which he enjoyed followed by fish and chips, which he said was rather boring. Didn’t have a pudding or cheese, but thought a plate of 4 cheeses at £9 was unjustified. Would certainly go again when we are in Southwold.

Really nice little Restaurant well worth visiting. Very friendly & efficient service(got the impression it’s family run, but could be wrong) great wine list and plenty of choice of decent wine under 20 quid a bottle. My starter of scallops on Pork belly was fantastic, while the main of Duck breast & Comfit wasn’t bad either — though I did suffer major food envy when the other half’s smoked seafood platter arrived. Worth booking in advance — we actually asked them to call us back as they werer full when initially inquired, and they did after a lat cancellation. Prices are about right for Southwold — 3 courses plus wine and nibbles came to £90 or thereabouts.
