Beautifully selected and prepared menu. We started with the crab and scallops and then had the grilled seafood and prawns for our mains. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and impeccable.

This place is fairly small and very hidden down a small alley, but it’s well worth the time it takes to find it! The food is at least 4 or 5 star quality and the service was great, especially considered the entire restaurant was serviced by just two people. I had the scallops and the lamb and both were cooked to perfection. The house wine was reasonably priced and was much better than many that i’ve had in the store! Highly recommended.

My wife and I have dined at the vine Leaf on several occasions since May 2012. The set menu is varied and will suit the majority of guests, the Wine list is varied and selective. The standard of food quality and service is consistently Very good. Highly recommended.

The Vine leaf is a lovely restaurant, a great menu but a little pricey. The last time we went there, however, they were short staffed so it wasn’t as good as previous visits. I would definitely recommend it, although it is best to book in advance as it is often busy.

I’ve lived in St Andrews my entire life and until last year, the Vine Leaf to me was ‘that restaurant which was permanently full booked’. I’d heard really good things about it, so I booked a table for my partner and I for a special occasion. You’ll want to book in advance, its really hard to get a table! Firstly, don’t be put off by the vast and varied menu. Gordon Ramsey is always telling restauranteurs off for having a really varied menu, but the Vine Leaf know how to cook and really do produce brilliant food. The staff and the boss are all incredibly friendly and polite, you feel really welcome. I was so delighted to see a bottle of water on the table when we were seated, no need to ask and face that ‘look’ you get off your waiter/waitress when you dare to ask for some tap water to accompany your meal/other drinks. Some nibbles are provided, bread rolls with your starter, wonderful! My partner and I enjoyed a really delicious three course dinner each, to be honest, the desserts were pure gluttony, I did warn my waitress I may need to be rolled out of the door in a fashion akin to Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(she laughed and said it could be arranged!). They have an excellent selection of red and white wines. Dinner was very reasonable, the prices were set, we paid about £23 each for three courses(a couple of items on the menu have supplements attached, we didn’t opt for them). We knew our booking had pretty much been squeezed in(for which we were extremely grateful!) but we felt under no obligation to hurry up and get out. One of the best meals I have eaten in a restaurant in terms of service, choice, quality, quantity and price. I will definitely be back as soon as possible!
