So. Me and the boy were going to go to Stranraer to pick up a cat (long story. well not that long, but kinda irrelevant here. anyway.) and needed somewhere to stay overnight.
We checked laterooms and found a couple of places — but plumped for this one on the basis of good reviews (particularly of breakfast) and the extra star in the rating. And I’m bloody glad we did.
Stranraer itself is an odd kind of place, especially now that the ferry doesn’t stop there anymore, but if you have any reason to be there and need somewhere to stay I’d heartily recommend staying here. Very comfortable bed, nicely furnished room, friendly (but not in that over-​friendly way) owners, who were tremendously kind and cooked a damn fine breakfast. Flat screen tv in the room, nicely stocked hospitality tray and toiletries in the bathroom. Lovely fluffy towels, right temperature, immaculately clean and just overall very welcoming.
One note — this is most definitely a NON SMOKING place. They’re *very* strict on that. Which was fine with us!
Lovely stay, would visit again.
