One for the tourists. the location means that this pub is right next to the open topped tourist bus start and finish point. This means that you are more likely to find a group of exchange students than anyone who actually lives in the town. That being said, the quality of the beer is exceptional and the patiient and busy staff are always friendly and welcoming. In the summer you can sit out the front and it does look out over onto the park. I have never tried the food but last time I was there they did stock Mr Prky Scratchings which was a huge point in its favour. give it a go if you are in the centre of town as you might be pleasantly surprised
