Good food and fast service on a busy sunny day, they have a lovely outdoor seating area, right by the canal which in the warm weather is lovely to sit and watch the world go by. For a chain restaurant this is above average both in service and in good quality and a great location!

Quiet pub, thought we’d have lunch on a Monday, ordered some sandwiches and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, over an hour.
Got a round of drinks in compensation, but heaven knows what it would be like if it were busy!

Popped in early evening on a Saturday night, restaurant was full but was told a wait of 15 mins max and a table for two would be ready. Given a pager which would tell us when, bought some drinks and 10 mins later it lit up and a table was ready. Service was excellent, courteous, not in your face from the friendly young lady, food was delicious (NY style chicken)

I’m from the U.S. and went here with friends. The food was great and the service was fairly fast. I ordered the doughballs and thought they were absolutely fantastic! I’d like to find a way to contact the owners so that I can have dough balls shipped to the U.S. … =]

Very nice place. The food is good, but a little expensive. Good to take the children in summer as it has an outdoor play area. Very nice in summer when you sit outside as it is next to the canal. Staff are good.

We stumbled upon the Red Lion by accident, looking for somewhere to eat in Stratford, and then went back as we knew it was quicker and easier to eat there than a pre theatre dinner. It’s a Table Table pub so shares the menu with others in the same chain. The pub is pretty spacious inside and decorated really nicely, it’s certainly somewhere where you could spend time relaxing and seems smarter than average pubs tend to be. The menu had a good choice and some specials too, once ordered, the food came quickly and was very tasty. We decided to try a dessert however the special I wanted had sold out, but as I struggled to choose one, I opted for my second choice of a clotted cream cheesecake. The desserts came really quickly too, so we had plenty of time to get to the theatre, the prices for the food were good, drinks prices were a little expensive but on a par with other places. It also has a pay and display car park where you get some money refunded if you eat in the pub!
