Lovely brunch spot in Teddington. We headed to the Fallow Deer late on Saturday morning — the place was busy and had a lovely buzz around it. We sat in the little outdoor garden area since the weather was permitting. The brunch menu was excellent — rich choice of dishes and a few cocktails to go with them. We ordered the ‘full herd’ and sourdough toast with avocado and chilli oil. I had the latter and it was certainly delicious(with added smoked salmon). The Full Herd was a version of the mighty English breakfast but so much better — with added chorizo sausages, herb pork sausages and what looked like home made baked beans in thick tomato sauce, this version deserves attention when looking for a rich brunch option. We also had a cocktail each to help us down the food — I had a delicious peach belini while my friends enjoyed the buck fizz. To add to that, the staff were absolutely lovely and the service was impressively quick. While I was in the café I noticed that the Fallow Deer also holds a regular diners club which sounded really nice… The place has much more to offer than decent brunch so I am looking forward to going back.

By far the best breakfast spot in Teddington. My husband always get the ‘full herd’ for breakfast. I’ve gotten something different each time. Quality of the food is good and atmosphere is mollifying. Love the vibe. I appreciate especially when we come in on our Monday morning breakfast(day off) and everyone is chill! Above all you are supporting a local business. I’m happy to see they are doing a supper club soon as well with a licence to serve cool beers and wines. Kudos for grabbing a larger location when they could(open just this summer 2014 in larger premises). And, if it happens to be a nice day, the garden is quite pleasant. Make it your local if you are in Teddington.

A lovely little vintage-style café, with 1940s and 50s music on the jukebox, mismatched crockery on the tables and a fine selection of homemade cakes on the stand. The menu could do with a slightly more extensive list of sarnies, but I’m assured that a bigger selection is on the way.

There’s some coffee shops and tea rooms out there that create an atmosphere closer to a Doctor’s waiting room than a social hub of friendly and passionate activity. The Fallow Deer, the new kid on the Teddington block, is the furthest thing from a sterile chain you can get. The owner prides herself on creating a vintage ambience(1940’s and 50’s to be precise). Upon entering, one is greeted by the dulcet tones of Ella Fitzgerald et al and sleek styling from a bygone era. Choose a tea from the list of favourites and surprising additions(Lord Grey’s Tweed Trousers stood out for us) and be served with a proper china cup and saucer. Most civilised! A home-made, predominantly locally sourced menu of hot and cold delights, cakes, pies, light lunches and sweet treats has enough to tempt any appetite. My wife and I went for the full cream tea and were not disappointed. Competitively priced and served with a genuine smile from the vintage enthusiasts who run the front of house make the experience one we’d love to repeat again and again. P.S. There’s something delightfully satisfying about spending your money in a local independent whilst the giant Starbucks opposite loses out!

Average coffee shop — does not live up to the other reviews here. Went with my boyfriend and we a coffee and cake. It was ok but not that special. I’m also like comfy seats and the problem with indie coffee shops in general is that always have hard seating. Would have received a higher rating if they did not over sale themselves.
